Love is in the air! Through the 14th we’re gonna have a couple pairs of cocktails for you guys. You don’t have to order them together, but you can. Stay tuned for a couple more tomorrow.

Letter #23 Martini
Old Tom gin, Chamberyzette (strawberry vermouth), 1 muddled strawberry, 1 dash chocolate bitters. Lime peel, vodka can be substituted

The Bathing Man’s Old Fashioned (the John Wayne)
2oz good bourbon, dashes of grenadine, angostura, and Benedictine. Cherry and orange with the rock

…and we’re back! We’re in the home stretch, gang. It’s almost over. Day 9 is a classic. Super well balanced, the Campari helps bitter it up at the end—almost grapefruity in a way. It’s the perfect laid back Friday night slow-sipper (and still JUST wintery enough).

Day 9: Nine Ladies Dancing (Apples and Oranges) Applejack, Apple infused brandy, curaçao, Campari, and lemon juice. Top it off with cypress fronds and a couple dashes of our Christmas bitters and you’re in flavor town.

Day 7 was a brutal challenge. Swans a-swimming means it’s gotta be strong; the Swan was an old version of a martini with angostura; no cool liquors available named after swans. So moving in the opposite direction we made our own version of the Swan. And we don’t do enough desert cocktails, so day 8 is a bit sweeter than normal.

Day 7: Seven Swans a-Swimming (Kyle Pitts, SENIOR) Westland American Single Malt, Luxardo Maraschino, pimento bitters, satsuma-vanilla bitters, simple syrup. Served with a cherry and lemon peel. It’s an improved whiskey cocktail, made with an American single malt. Very solid, you really can’t go wrong with it.

Day 8: Maids a-Milking (the Chilean Housekeeper) Träkál Patagonian spirit, Crème de Banane, maple syrup, cream and nutmeg on top. There’s a slightly minty and bright note that reminds me of a French Maid (cocktail, not lace) and it pairs super well with the banana ice cream thing going on around it.

We accidentally stumbled upon this Italian Hay liqueur and it immediately hit all the notes. It’s certainly a divisive flavor, but it fits incredibly here.

Day 6: Six Geese a-laying (the Goose Egg) Grey Goose vodka, Italian Hay liqueur, egg white, a splash of lemon and gomme syrup. Extremely bright, yet not entirely sweet. Well rounded, and very olfactory. Think “edible barn yard”.

Day 5: The Athena ; On the fifth day of Christmas brings the gift of Five Golden Rings. This smokey, full-body cocktail consists of mezcal, goldschläger, cherry liqueur, amaro abano, and lime. A very well balanced cocktail whose namesake is from the goddess of wisdom and handicraft. Come in and have a sip while it’s in season !

Day Four: Four Calling Birds (the Wrenfair) It’s a jungle bird and a tom collins mixed! We’ve got Tulsi Gin, Campari, Lime, Lemon, Grenadine, and carbonated fresh pineapple juice. Topped with angostura and a pineapple frond, it’s got a perfect balance. This drink tastes how Phil Collin’s Tarzan soundtrack sounds (10/10)

Alright gang, first off, I need to address the controversy. It took only two songs and a single day of the Days of Christmas for me to screw up the lyrics. For that I apologize, Cam even told me to google the lyrics and make sure. I called him a fool, but who’s laughing now?
For day three we’re actually doing day 2, which is two turtle doves, so here’s THREE turtle doves.

Day THREE: THREE Turtle Doves (two in the bush plus one in the hand) It’s a chocolate martini! We’ve got Genever, Chamberyzette (strawberry vermouth), dove chocolate syrup, and (for the turtle aspect) pecan orgeat. Top it off with a tiny bit of nutmeg and vanilla-satsuma bitters, and you’re in for a ride.

Today marks the beginning of a 3 week long journey to the Yule. Now that thanksgiving is over and done for, it’s time to count down the 12 days of Christmas—and what better way to do that than a cocktail every day we’re open. From today (twofer) until Christmas Eve, every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we will be adding a drink to our specials list. They will be cumulative and will be available until ingredients run dry. If you come 4 times this month, we might even have a little surprise for you.

Day One: A Partridge in a Pear Tree (David Cassidy’s Ladder) Applejack, house pear liqueur, phosphoric acid, brandied satsumas. It’s smooth and easy, with a wonderful pear and vanilla finish.

Day Two: Two French Hens (the Norman Connection) Calvados, lemon, egg white, gomme syrup, and pimento bitters to top. I don’t know how we haven’t done this before, but this is a glorious concoction. Classic Brandy sour vibes with a wonderful aroma of green apples on the finish.
