Beyond The Vale Just WOW. 🖤

To everyone who’s braved the storm to spend the evening with us tonight — it’s massively appreciated.

Nights like this simply sum up what The Trapdoor is all about. Incredibly talented musicians performing in an atmosphere where people actually sit, listen and appreciate every single word and every note. 🎹🎤

Sometimes we find ourselves just sitting there in complete awe of the talent right in front of us. Nights like tonight make it all worthwhile and remind us exactly why we’ll never change our mature, intimate, table-service atmosphere for anything.

No packed dance floors, no shouting over the music — just great people, a few drinks and proper live music being given the attention it deserves. 🎶🖤

And we’re still going strong if anyone’s out and about and fancies sneaking in for a late one… 🍸

Just don’t tell too many people — we’ve got a reputation for being a secret to maintain. 🤫🚪😂

Bank Holiday Sunday… because apparently two nights out just isn’t enough. 😂🍸

We’re back open from 6pm tonight, with Beyond the Vale taking the stage from 8.30pm 🎤🎹 Expect great live music, cold drinks, questionable Bank Holiday decisions and, as always, table service all night so there’s absolutely no need to leave your seat. 🙌

And for all the parents out there… the kids are going back to school! 🥳 Surely that deserves a little celebration of its own. The disco lights might even get switched on later… who knows where the night will take us. 🪩😂

A well-earned rest day today after another busy Friday and Saturday in the TD 🍸

Friday we celebrated Vikki’s 40th in full green & gold style 💚✨ Vikki, we hope you’ve had a lovely birthday weekend and aren’t feeling too delicate today. 🥂😂

There have been a LOT of balloons in the TD this weekend 🎈
Just to clarify — we mean the filled-with-air variety.
The other type STILL aren’t welcome. 😂🍸

Saturday afternoon it was over to Hannah and the girls for her hen party 👰‍♀️🥂 Hope you had a brilliant afternoon Hannah! All the very best for the big day! ❤️

Once the hens had flown the nest and we’d made the place vaguely respectable again, we opened the doors for Saturday night and topped off the weekend with the amazingly talented Imogen Paige on our stage. 🎤✨

Hopefully everyone who joined us this weekend enjoyed their time in the TD — we loved having you.

Feet up today, then we go again next week…

Apologies guys… we’re opening a little later than usual today — doors at 6.30pm 🍸

We’re hosting a hen party this afternoon, so we need to make sure the stripper has left the building and all evidence has been suitably removed before we let the general public back in. 😂👀🩷

Once normal Trapdoor service has resumed…

🎤 Imogen-Paige live on stage from 9pm
🍸 Table service all night
🪩 Followed by the usual late-night questionable dance moves and disco lights

Whatever happens after 9pm stays behind the door.

Friday: Sorry folks, we’re CLOSED for a private 40th — so it may be a little less speakeasy and a little more PARTY behind the secret door 🤫🎂🥂

Then we’ll put the place back together and return to normal service…

Saturday: Back to those chilled table-service vibes, good drinks, mature company and Imogen-paige music 🤎 LIVE from 9PM. 🎸🍸

There’s always a great crowd in when Imogen’s on our stage so get yourselves down, grab a table and settle in for a proper Saturday night.

A surprisingly busy Friday in the TD last night 🍸

Just for reference, we’d quite like to keep it that way. 😉🤫

We don’t need to scream and shout about what we do. No big signs, no flashing lights. Once you’ve found that door, tackled the stairs and made it up here, you’re in the club.

Just a polite notice for anyone thinking of taking the plunge though…

If you’re looking for a large glass of wine for £4 supermarket cheap vodka with roller cola for £3 or £1.80 pints we’re probably not going to be your kind of place.

Our customers are more likely to ask for a New Zealand Sauvignon or ask ‘is you Malbec from France or Argentina’ then ‘What’s the cheapest wine you do’

For a little bit of context, behind that door we’re currently sitting at:

If you’ve never seen Mark perform before, you’ve either been hiding under a rock… or you’re just not getting out enough. 😂

Stelly pretty much sums up why we keep live music on our stage every weekend. Tunes from across the decades, requests encouraged, plenty of banter and always the first to support other local artists.

Basically, give him a guitar and a microphone and see where the night takes us. 🎸
