This Sunday 21 June | $25 Ticket Includes Complimentary Cocktail

Our Sunday History Talks are back, and this time we're stepping into the world of spies. For one special evening, we're joined by Mike Pritchard, founder and curator of the Australian Spy Museum, for a conversation exploring the stories, secrets and artefacts that have shaped the history of espionage.

From concealed cameras and clandestine devices to tales of famous spies and covert operations, Mike will share objects from the largest private collection of espionage artefacts in the Southern Hemisphere and the stories behind them.

Sydney photographer Walter Barnett brought out Marius Sestier, a French cameraman from the Lumière Studios, and on 22 September 1896 Sestier shot the first Australian film on Sydney Harbour: PS Brighton, on Manly.

Barnett and Sestier would later travel to Melbourne together to film the 1896 Melbourne Cup, but it all started here.

PS Brighton combines St Agnes VSOP Brandy, Moreau Apple Pie Liqueur, IMD Auvert Liqueur, lemon juice, anise syrup and bitters, clarified and garnished with a fruit leather leaf.

A staple of the Sunday roast, pumpkins once sparked fierce rivalry between NSW, Victoria, Queensland and WA, with each state convinced they produced the best. After years of cross-pollination, the perfect roasting pumpkin was finally released to the Australian public in 1986.
