International Sushi Day is a celebration of craftsmanship, tradition and one of Japan’s most beloved culinary arts. 🍣

What began centuries ago as a method of preserving fish evolved into the sushi we know today—an expression of balance, seasonality and meticulous technique. At O-Ku, we honor those traditions while bringing our own elevated approach to every roll, nigiri and sashimi served.

Employee spotlight 🌟 Noah was our first Employee of the Month of 2026! Noah is an all-star food runner, server assistant and bar back. Although Noah joined the O-Ku DC team just last October, he has already made a big impact on the team with his hard work, and dedication to working collaboratively.

Noah is passionate about learning to bartend, and in his free time he plays keyboard and guitar in a band with a few other members of our back of house! 🎸🎹🎶 Next time you're in, if you see him behind the bar, or dropping off a dish to your table, be sure to say hi!
