Employee spotlight 🌟 Noah was our first Employee of the Month of 2026! Noah is an all-star food runner, server assistant and bar back. Although Noah joined the O-Ku DC team just last October, he has already made a big impact on the team with his hard work, and dedication to working collaboratively.

Noah is passionate about learning to bartend, and in his free time he plays keyboard and guitar in a band with a few other members of our back of house! 🎸🎹🎶 Next time you're in, if you see him behind the bar, or dropping off a dish to your table, be sure to say hi!

Spring is here, and so is sakura season at O-Ku 🌸

In Japan, sakura marks the fleeting phenomenon that is cherry blossom season -- a short window that reminds us to pause, and appreciate the beauty around us. Sakura is especially dear to us at O-Ku DC, as we marvel at the pink blooms that decorate the streets, and join the city's annual festivities to honor friendship and commemorate the cherry blossoms gifted to DC by Japan in 1912.

We had an incredible time celebrating at this year’s Pink Tie Party. 🌸

To honor the season, Chef crafted a delicate balance of decadence and bright spring flavors: a light rice crisp topped with rich Foie Gras mousse, fresh seasonal sashimi, yuzu dashi jelly, and a tart Sanshu berry finish.
