When the plant came into my life two decades ago, I never would have imagined it would become a healing component of not just my body, but my Blackness.
Being Black and multiracial isn’t nearly as difficult as it was when I was growing up, but part of that progress came because people before me , and people beside me , were willing to stand up, speak out, fight where needed…and heal where needed.
Cannabis became more than a plant. It became a teacher, a connector, a source of healing, and a bridge to community. It helped me find purpose, build relationships, and create spaces where others could feel seen, heard, and welcomed.
To everyone who has supported me, challenged me, collaborated with me, and helped build this community over the years: THANK YOU.
We’re not done yet, but I’m grateful for how far we’ve come together.
