It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and community leader, Tom Tarn, following his battle with cancer.
For more than a decade, Tom dedicated his time, energy, and heart to GRGRF. Tom first served as a valued member of our Events Committee, and most recently, as a member of our Board of Directors. Before his passing, we were honored to recognize his extraordinary impact and legacy by renaming our Heart of the Community Award the Tom Tarn Heart of the Community Award.
The award celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional support for GRGRF and its mission, along with a longstanding commitment to the Bay Area LGBTQ community. There was never any question that Tom embodied everything this award represents. His generosity, dedication, friendship, and unwavering commitment to our community have left an indelible mark that will last for generations to come.
We send our love, sympathy, and support to Major and Tom’s entire family during this incredibly difficult time. Tom will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a true heart of our community.
