Through the late ’90s and 2000s, 1015 became a West Coast home for a new wave of electronic music, bringing European DJs to San Francisco and helping connect the city to a rapidly expanding global trance scene.

Paul van Dyk at Nikita in 1999. Tiësto during the early Spundae years. Above & Beyond playing extended sets in 2007, then returning for an all-night New Year’s Eve in 2009. Nights that started at 10PM and sometimes didn’t end until 8AM.

Across four decades, the names changed, the sound evolved and trance went from underground clubs to arenas and festivals around the world. But 1015 remains part of that lineage.

40 years of 1015 Folsom.
A lot of history happened on this dance floor. 🦜

Forty years of music, dancing, and nights that stayed with us long after the lights came up.

This New Year’s Eve, 1015 Folsom celebrates its 40th anniversary with a special, limited-capacity night headlined by Above & Beyond.

Since opening in 1986, 1015 has been shaped by the artists who played here, the people who worked behind the scenes, and the dancers who made the floor their own. Four decades later, we’re still here because of that community. This night is for all of you.

The anniversary also honors club owner Ira Sandler, who died in May 2026. He had been working on the celebration before his passing and we continued to make it happen. Above & Beyond’s return carries a personal connection: their 2009–10 New Year’s Eve performance at 1015 was one of his favorite nights at the club.

Above & Beyond have spent more than two decades bringing people together through electronic music. As the founders of Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, they’ve helped shape the sound of dance floors around the world, while building a connection with their audience that goes far beyond the music. We can’t think of a better way to welcome a new year and mark this moment in 1015’s history.

The best is yet to come
Celebrate with us on December 31.
