Is it Monday yet? This week, on Feb, 23rd, we’ll be joined by local legend and our good friend Chef Tara Monsod of .sandiego as part of our extended Lunar New Year celebration. Come try some of her special a la carte menu items including Egg Salad with youtiao, bơ, maggi, tomato and satay, Steamed Mussels with herb butter, rau răm, thai chili and baguette and Chả Cá with turmeric dill buerre monte, green onion, dill and fried rice noodles. If you miss Chef Tara on Monday, we’ll have her special menu (along with our normal menu) all week through the 28th!

Head over to .sandiego this week for a limited time to try Chef David’s special a la carte menu offerings in celebration of Lunar New Year. Dishes include Hokkaido Scallop Crudo with passionfruit Nước Chấm, black radish and extra virgin olive oil, Beef Laab with Thai chili vinaigrette, Easter egg radish, toasted rice powder, Thai eggplant and fresh herbs and Roasted Squab with crispy leg confit, Nước Chấm chimichurri, Mắm Nêm, rice noodles and lettuce wrap. Here for a limited run and just in time for our Lunar New Year celebration tonight, introducing the First Visitor.

Named after “Xông đất” (first footing), a time-honored Tết tradition in Vietnam. It is believed that the first person to enter a household at the start of the Lunar New Year brings with them good fortune, happiness, and prosperity for the coming year. 

Made with LALO Blanco, Alma Tepec, Chado Czar Alexander Tea, Clarified and Salted Beets, Shiso, Lemon and Soda. Come enjoy it starting tonight until we run out!

So proud of our friend .monsod for lifting our city up through all she does for our community and now as a repeated James Beard Award semi-finalist. This Lunar New Year we’re excited to be partnering with Chef Tara and Animae to honor our Southeast Asian heritage. On Tuesday, February 17th, Chef David will be at Animae to kick off a week of special menu items available at the restaurant and then on Monday, February 23rd, Chef Tara will join us here at Kingfisher where you can try her menu items the entire week through February 28th. Make your reservations through the Animae website and the link in our bio!
