Boatman Spirits Co. has teamed up with several Raleigh restaurants and bars for the Local Spirit Cocktail Competition, a new series of friendly downtown cocktail contests built around North Carolina-made spirits.
The next round is happening 7 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at Longleaf Swine, where five local bartenders will compete using Kill Devil Rum from Outer Banks Distilling and, because this is North Carolina and we have standards, Cheerwine.
Competing bartenders include Aaron Lambert of Boatman Spirits Co., Hope Levinson of Mala Pata, Doug Wheeler of Transfer Co. Food Hall, Patrick Dunmire of Foundation and Nolan Ruhmke of William & Company.
Judges for the evening are Tony Ursone of Kill Devil Rum, Walker Roberts of Longleaf Swine and Adam Cunningham, owner of Longleaf Swine.
Attendees also get a say in choosing their favorite cocktails.
The best part? It’s free to attend and sample the cocktails.
