First printed in 1887 in Jerry Thomas' updated Bartender's Guide, the Saratoga Brace Up is a smooth and custardy classic built with cognac, absinthe, lemon, and a whole egg. We've adapted ours from the original recipe, and it's been part of our Anvil 100 list from day one, a great cocktail for anyone who's a fan of flips, milk punches, and bourbon sours.

Created in 1967 by the legendary J. "Popo" Galsini, the Saturn is a bright and refreshing drink made with dry gin, lemon, falernum, passion fruit, and orgeat. Originally named the after the X-15 spacecraft, it was quickly renamed to the Saturn after the X-15 had a tragic accident. Galsini would continue to work at countless California tiki bars, carrying on a long career of over 60 years, bartending on his 81st birthday before passing away soon afterward.
