Inspired by Detroit's mid-20th century cocktail heyday, the Buhl Bar draws on the traditions of its storied predecessor, which closed in 1994, as well as such other famed after-work haunts as the Money Tree, the Bull Market, the King's Table and the Brass Rail. Not a precious "classic cocktail bar", the Buhl is the true source material on which these latter-day pretenders are based. Honoring the g

reat American business tradition of the happy hour, the Buhl opens every working day just in time for that last "conference call I gotta take from the road" and just long enough to be that "ridiculous tie-up on the freeway, dear". Ease out of the florescent din of the office melee into a genteel corner of the metropolis where the lights are low, the music is soft and the bartender knows your drink before you do.
