I've put up a Get Hip! playlist on spotify. It's more the recent/current bands & artists that I'm listening to rather than the records that were played at Get Hip although you'll of heard the Tito Ramirez one getting played out on 45 at our night. Had the club still of be going I'd of been looking at booking some of these artists on the playlist for our night.

Weekend Sounds: and it's the latest release from Canadian label The Beautiful Music - I Helped Edward Ball Escape!' a tribute to The Times/Edward Ball.
This is a double CD set featuring 44 tracks in total and does include a couple of North East artists in The Che Men and also Tetley.
Other artists on this CD set include Colin Swan from the Direct Hits, True Stories whose line up includes Bart Mendoza from Manual Scan/The Shambles, Lovejoy, The Eddies, The Painted Word, The Yellow Melodies, etc. Have to say that this is really well put together tribute, I'm loving the artwork and although most of the artists are new to me I'm really enjoying the songs on this CD set. Well worth picking up!

'Echoes Of The 30s' was our debut album which came out on Red Star Recordings in 2024. The vinyl only release was a mix of mod, indie, punk, ska & reggae and featured a guest appearance from Martin Bottomley (aka Martin Hewes) from the 80s band the Redskins. The artwork for the record was done by Paul Bevoir (The Jetset) and based on an old Spanish Civil War poster.
The record quickly sold out and last year it was re-issued on compact disc with 3 bonus tracks including a dub mix of 'Wasted Lands' done by Nasser & Trev from Big Boss Man.
You can still pick the 'Echoes Of The 30s' CD up from our Bandcamp page which comes with a free download and I think that Record Revivals in Scarborough may have a copy or two of the CD in stock.
'Echoes Of The 30s' is also up on all the major streaming sites.

I heard from Canadian record label The Beautiful Music today and the Ed Ball/The Times tribute has finally landed!
'I Helped Edward Ball Escape!' is a double CD set featuring 44 tracks and The Che Men have 2 tracks on the tribute. Other artists that feature on the tribute include Colin Swan (from the Direct Hits), True Stories, The Yellow Melodies, Lovejoy, SUPER 8, The Eddies, The Painted Word, Tetley, etc.
