Well done hack I don’t think autism should be treated as a disease some of the pioneers off history had autism, ocd and all the other names there is for people who think and act differently to the so called normal people it is treated as a hindrance when really it could be a gift.
💫🤗 Today is National Supported Internships Day!
Supported Internships aim to help young people with additional learning support needs to build the skills and confidence to take their next steps in life.
Jack, pictured, has autism and secured a role as a yard assistant after impressing bosses on a work placement as part of his Supported Internship.
He said: “At first it was a bit difficult as I was trying to cope with everything and dealing with new people, but I got used to it, the people are nice, I like the work, and now I feel like I’m where I want to be.”
Gaining employment was his goal, and Jack now hopes to continue to progress at work.
