Plot 22 is a multi-purpose creative space managed by social enterprise RiteTrax, situated in the heart of Castlegate.

We run multi-genre grassroots & underground music events and support our local community with music provision.

A bit about our little home on Exchange Street 💜

We got started with Plot 22 in 2017 and transformed it from an old nail salon in the heart of the old Castle Market. From these bare bones we built the grassroots music venue you know and love today. Our 120 cap intimate dancefloor welcomes performers, DJs and all sorts of creatives engaging in the underground scene 🔊

Inspired by clubs in Europe, we introduced our no phones on the dancefloor policy in 2023, remaining the only venue in Sheffield to have this in place. In such a hyperconnected world we believe its important to have place where you can fully immerse yourself in the dance and switch your brain off for the night..💆‍♀️

We've hosted some incredible emerging artists over the years who have become top names in electronic music - such as Mixtress, Sammy Virji, A Little Sound, Silva Bumpa and Samurai Breaks to name a few! Supporting grassroots is at the heart of what we do 💜

Every weekend that proper rave energy is powered by our incredible Void soundsystem, here to rattle your ribcage with its crisp highs and incredible bass. Garage, bassline, house, techno, jungle, drum & bass, punk, hip-hop, dubstep.. we have it all and more!

Operating from the home of our social enterprise RiteTrax, Plot is our biggest project to date and keeps going from strength to strength with the support from our wonderful staff, artists and community of ravers 💜

This Sheffield-based label live and breathe jungle - bringing a raw, breakbeat atmosphere and absolute vibe to underground music venues like the Southbank Warehouse. This time, we’re bringing them to Plot for a classic night of jungle, breakbeat, bassline + more.

📞 KEEPIN’ IT LOCAL w/ Jimmy The Gent 📞

Join us at Plot this Friday for one of our iconic LOCAL series, featuring the absolute legend as he brings some high-energy classics to the dance floor! 🪩

Known for being a Manchester mixer and ‘ROAR’ resident DJ at the University of Sheffield, Jimmy creates his own world of music, delivering a masterclass in genre-bending and mashups. His open format style and versatility in pop, R&B, disco + more has landed him appearances all around the UK, such as Tramlines, Glastonbury and Boomtown.

At Plot, we’re being delivered a special liveset – a chance to see the gent spinning his favourite vinyl and electronic deep cuts for four hours straight! 💿

🎸CREOLA
Thomas Michael is a live electronic artist and producer known for improvised hardware sets. Part of Sheffield’s underground music scene for years and co-owner of Plot and RiteTrax - tonight he’ll be bringing us some absolutely smokin’ hot funky acid techno and house selections - get ready to absolutely lose yourself on the dancefloor 🥵🫠
