Camera wizards / film makers, help!

On Saturday 2pm-3pm I need someone to film a show at Thornlea (which is the Drama Department for Exeter Uni - opposite the Imperial) - it doesn't need to be amazing quality, but good enough that it could be viewed by people who might potentially want to book the show. Here's the blurb for the show:

‘Magical Screentest’ is a disarmingly honest self-portrait of aspiring actor Isobel Jeffery: the heroic, inspiring tale of how she has worked to overcome learning disabilities and health problems, and fought to transcend other people’s ideas of what she might be capable of. The show describes the true story of how she struggled in her teenage years with misdiagnosed epilepsy, the consequences of this on her health and lifestyle, and how she is fighting now to realise her dream of being an actor.

No budget as such but want to pay you something. Is £50 plus petrol/travel possible for a couple of hours of your time? Meet 1:30pm and then by the time I've grabbed the footage off you afterwards it will probably be 3:30pm.
DM if you're interested!

Madame Thespia is back with another Deliciously Diverse Cabaret at Exeter Library!

Thursday, Feb 26 from 7:30 pm – £6-9 (pay what you can) – Carers free

Madame Thespia is delighted to announce the return of her Deliciously Diverse Cabaret to Exeter Library – this time wrapped up in snowflakes, fur coats and magic! Madame Thespia and her longsuffering companion Gustave LeGrump invite you to step through the wardrobe, into the Deliciously Diverse Winter Cabaret 2026.

Previous cabarets have included festive frolics, immersive murder mystery, absurdist fortune telling and all manner of joyful nonsense. This edition is inspired by the wintry world of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and will feature comedy, music, poetry, storytelling acts and more.

Madame Thespia’s open mic nights are open to everyone, but are especially designed to champion and platform creatives from under-represented backgrounds, including (but not limited to!) neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, non-binary, global majority, late-career and early-career artists.

Dressing up is warmly encouraged – think winter magic, woodland creatures, secret royalty, witches, wardrobes or anything delightfully strange – with a prize for the best costume.

The show will kick off at 7.30pm and last for approx 105mins including an interval. The Library will run a pop-up bar from 7pm selling soft drinks & alcohol.

ARTISTS! APPLY NOW FOR A PERFORMANCE SLOT

We invite poets, singers, actors, comedians, dancers, storytellers and artists of any discipline to share the stage (max. 7 minutes).

Please reserve a slot in advance by contacting [email protected] or phoning Gustave on 07584 222659.

This project is run with the generous support of Libraries Unlimited, and produced by Four of Swords.

Age Guidance: 14+ (may include mild language and adult themes)
