โจOPEN TOMORROW ๐ฅณ๐
Honestly, sometimes it feels like weโre on a prank show. ๐ซฃ
Thursday we had an electrical issue and we really thought we might have to close for the busiest weekend of the month. We had to cancel our bookings on Thursday.
Despite hoping the electricity would be restored in time, by Friday afternoon we were still without power. As a result, we had to make the difficult decision to cancel all of Fridays bookings.
Running an independent hospitality business can be incredibly tough, often while dealing with challenges that customers never see and somehow keeping a smile on your face while hoping the next phone call isnโt another disaster.
Like many independent businesses, we rely on weekends to keep us going. When something like this happens, itโs not just a case of closing the doors for a day or two and heading to the beach. We donโt WANT to close. Infact, we NEED to open to stay afloat. As owners, we immediately start worrying about our team, paying wages, covering bills, and the impact of losing 2 days tradingโespecially during one of our busiest weekends.
Itโs been a stressful couple of days, and if weโre honest, itโs hard not to feel a little defeated.
To everyone who had a table booked and cancelled, weโre so sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment. Weโre just as disappointed as you are.
Thank you for your patience and understandingโit means more than you know.
Thankfully, the power is back on, and weโre ready to welcome you back tomorrow. If you pop in, please bear with us if things take a little longer than usual. A smile, a bit of patience, and a kind word mean more than you know. (Weโre probably fighting back tears ๐
)
Hereโs hoping this weekend is about great drinks, good vibes, and absolutely no plot twists. ๐ค๐ผ
