Friday 26th June | Al Gu Birthday Bash

al gu is a DJ/Producer, recognised for their Goop EP as well as their work as a music event promoter/organiser: Faerie Circle and Slàinte Mhath and their one off event with baile/baile - Na Gabh Dragh (a club night with an included Gaelic lesson at Summerhall). They are also the Assistant Manager of Edinburgh’s Community Radio, EHFM. They have opened for artists such as Some Guest, 3DMA, GFOTY and Digitalism. Their music has been a part of Your Tears Taste like Sugar at Petersburg Art Space, Works in Progress on EHFM and the short film Waiting for Marcus. They also have a regular EHFM show ratarsed with Faerie Circle Co-creator Malicedeejay, showcasing oddball selections and excellent yapping.

Sonic Tonic | Meet the Artists

Charlotte Devlin is a composer, performer, and producer from South Lanarkshire, Scotland. She creates immersive works that blur genre boundaries and invite audience participation, blending her love of dance with sound.

Combining her commitment to accessibility in music with her training in sonic arts during her composition degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Charlotte explores the use of everyday objects and sounds as instruments, transforming them through digital processing and occasionally incorporating spoken voice from her own interviews.

Her practice examines music from a sonic and textural perspective, exploring themes of nostalgia, humour and place.

Ravelston’s been putting on club nights for over half his life, and making music for longer still. He’s got a string of releases for Paradise Palms under his belt and an ever growing list of remixes for Edinburgh legends and beyond. Whether holding down the Tuesday Morning slot on EHFM, working up a dancefloor, or performing live, he’s always riding the line between atmospheric exploration and party heat.

Lara Sinclair is a multi-genre DJ with a love
For everything from italo disco to hardcore.

She holds down residences at The Bongo Club and Sneaky Pete’s and runs the night “Chromatic” at the Bongo with her best pal

Lara sets are always creative, high energy and unpredictable. Fun always guaranteed!

A little flashback to our last Sonic Tonic, which had everyone laughing, moving, and buzzing with excitement as we celebrated some of the incredible talent our city has to offer.

Sonic Tonic is a space for creatives to meet, connect, and see what others are building.

brought a fresh and sophisticated sound, pioneering a seamless blend of genres and keeping the audience locked in with every beat and texture she carefully crafts to create her own unique sonic world.

lit up the room with their new comedy special, Nothing To Be Embarrassed About. Embodying an older character inspired by family, they brought endless joy and had the audience fully involved. From teaching us the Paradise Palm âś‹ and the Sleepy Head to a host of other unforgettable moves, all set against irresistibly infectious grooves, they took us on a journey unlike any other.

Buckfast Barbie closed the evening, delivering a powerful set with her uk funky, hard drum and Latin inspired sounds that brought the perfect finale to a night packed with laughter, connection, and unforgettable performances.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us and to the artists who made the night so special.

We can’t wait to do it all again this Thursday evening:
