BLACK HISTORY MONTH, BLACK LGBTQ+ HISTORY 🖤🏳️‍🌈

Continuing our Black LGBTQ+ History Month series, today we’re celebrating an incredible figure in British LGBTQ+ history Lady Phyll.

As the co founder of UK Black Pride, Lady Phyll has dedicated years to creating spaces where Black LGBTQ+ people can feel represented, celebrated and supported and still doing this today!

What began as a small gathering in 2005 grew into one of Europe’s largest celebrations of LGBTQ+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American and Middle Eastern heritage.

Her work reminds us that Pride isn’t just about celebration. It’s about community, equality and making sure everyone has a place where they belong.

And that’s something we believe strongly in at Queenshilling.

LGBTQ+ venues are more than just nightclubs. They’re spaces where friendships are made, identities are celebrated and people can be themselves without judgement.

This Black History Month, we recognise the people who have fought to make our community more inclusive, and those who continue that work today.

Because everyone deserves somewhere they feel welcome. 🖤🏳️‍🌈

Your history. Your community. Your pride.
