Amigos this one hits a bit different,
After a tough chapter, Miguelito Valdés is back. A serious health scare pulled him off the stage for a moment, but now he’s fully recovered—hungrier, stronger, and ready to do what he does best: ignite the waterfront with rhythm, soul, and that kind of energy you don’t learn… you live.
And like any great story, this one doesn’t stand alone. His conga player, Héctor Ramos, faced his own battle—a leukemia diagnosis that could have stopped everything. But watching Miguelito fight his way back gave him the strength to keep going. Now, they return side by side—not just as musicians, but as a testament to resilience, brotherhood, and life itself.
All summer long, every Friday at 5:30 PM, Puerto Vallarta Amigos at Fisherman’s Wharf (1 Dallas Rd) becomes their stage again. And trust us—this isn’t just another gig. It’s a comeback with meaning.
Miguelito’s journey already reads like a world tour: from the Latin Grammy-winning La Rumba Soy Yo to six years on the road with Omara Portuondo, to sharing stages with legends like Gilberto Santa Rosa and Andrés Cepeda, and appearing on Rhythms del Mundo alongside Sting, Coldplay, U2, and Maroon 5.
But this summer—it’s personal.
They’re coming back with gratitude, with fire, and with a real desire to see the community show up—not just for the music, but for the moment.
Cold drinks in hand. Tacos coming off the grill. The sun dipping behind the harbour. And a crowd that knows they’re part of something bigger than a Friday night show.
It’s free. It’s family- and pet-friendly. And every bite, every drink, every cheer helps keep this music alive.
Follow us on Facebook for weekly dates—and come be part of Miguelito’s return.
See you Friday, May 1st, by the water.
1 Dallas Rd, Fisherman’s Wharf — Puerto Vallarta Amigos.
