“Now that’s a strong foundation for a green star.”

The Acorn just took home the 2026 Vancouver Magazine Sustainability Award and Best Plant-Based, and we’re still flying high. 🚀

We’ve been doing this work quietly, stubbornly, and deliberately for 14 years: building close relationships with growers and foragers, preserving the season, using the whole ingredient, and letting those choices shape everything from the food and drinks to the way the restaurant runs.

Big thanks to and for recognizing the work, and to everyone who has supported The Acorn over the years. We’re proud to keep doing this work on Main Street, with and for our community 💫✨🌱

Before a plate hits the table, there’s a whole world behind it.
This is the part guests don’t always see: the dozens of small decisions that shape a meal long before it reaches the plate.
At The Acorn, that care starts with our ingredients. Local produce. Thoughtful sourcing. Scratch cooking. A kitchen team that works hard to use every part of what comes through the door, finding beauty and flavour in peels, stems, trim, and scraps that might otherwise be overlooked. And a front-of-house team that helps carry that care to the table, guiding the experience with knowledge, warmth, and intention.
Zero waste isn’t a slogan to us. It’s a practice. So is cooking with the seasons. So is building a menu with intention, from harvest to prep to plate. 🌱🖤

This is the final week to catch Carla Tak’s extraordinary work, “The View From Lookout Mountain” up on our billboard at the corner of Main and King Edward. Stop in for a bite and take home your limited edition artist card.

We’re thrilled to be working with Carla on this project and as is customary, both Lila and Acorn drew inspiration from her oeuvre to concoct cocktails truly worth savouring 🍸

One of our favourite food groups, filtered through the Acorn lens. Every Tuesday we’re serving tacos built on fresh tortillas made in-house from nixtamalized corn from Unearthed Organics, then topped with a rotating lineup of seasonal, local, sustainable fillings. Non-traditional, not trying to be, and definitely not like anything you’ve had before 🌱

🍷Acorn x Flower Day Wine🍷
Pop-Up Wine Bar | Thursday, March 19

On Thursday, March 19, we’re hosting a wine-forward evening with Acorn alum and good pal James Miziolek to celebrate the first vintage from Flower Day Wine.

Now 10 harvests in, James has made wine in the Okanagan, the Lower Mainland, and most recently Georgia. Before moving into production, he spent years working in wine programs across Vancouver, including here at The Acorn, where his love of local ingredients and sense of place first took hold.

That philosophy is now at the heart of Flower Day Wine, a small, quality-driven project sourcing grapes from the Lower Mainland and highlighting some of BC’s lesser-known growing regions. The wines are naturally fermented, unfined, and unfiltered, made with a light touch and a strong sense of place.

For the night, we’ll be pouring Flower Day alongside a specially paired Acorn menu, available à la carte or as a full menu with a curated flight. James will be in the room pouring and sharing the story behind the bottles.

Reservations are open now. See you March 19 🌟
