𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 🎸💥

We love a good DJ set, but there is something deeply spiritual about the smell of a melting amplifier and the threat of a flying guitar headstock.

Consider this a necessary look back at the night we let raw, distorted noise completely hijack the venue.

turned the floor into an absolute warzone. Our kind of chaos, of course, but a warzone nonetheless.

Nani?! then dragged us straight into a 90s garage fever dream, keeping the energy beautifully thick and gritty.

Now Measurehead, they brought the house down. When they hit the stage, they delivered the final, aggressive blows to ensure nobody left with their hearing intact. ⚡️🔊

𝗠𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗱, 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴. 🤘

It was the exact reset we needed. Having a real bass drum vibrate straight through your ribs is a whole different beast, and you lot matched that energy perfectly.

To everyone who lost a shoe in the crowd or spent the next morning nursing a serious neck ache: thank you.

You proved that live, heavy music has a permanent home on Hope Street.

A rent party is a social gathering where tenants invite musicians or DJs to perform while guests contribute money to help cover the rent. Originating in 1920s Harlem, these parties emerged as a form of mutual aid within Black communities facing economic hardship and racial discrimination.
As rents continue to rise in Cape Town, more and more people are being pushed out by rising living costs, development, and gentrification. A rent party feels just as relevant now as it did then.
This time, the tenant’s house comes to 𝖊𝖛𝖔𝖑.
Come dance, support the cause, and help raise rent. If you can, throw a little extra in at the door. ❤️

We love a bit of friction inside these walls, but only the kind that is explicitly invited.

Our corner of Cape Town stays a safe space because we all follow the same golden rule: just because someone looks like they’re dressed for a dungeon doesn’t mean they’ve invited you into theirs.

The chains, the leather, and the fishnets are forms of self-expression, not an open invitation to touch, even if, like this skin, it looks soooo touchable. 🫦

Play nice, ask before you enter someone’s personal orbit, and we can all keep being as beautifully degenerate as we like.
