We love a good DJ set, but there is something deeply spiritual about the smell of a melting amplifier and the threat of a flying guitar headstock.

Consider this a necessary look back at the night we let raw, distorted noise completely hijack the venue.

turned the floor into an absolute warzone. Our kind of chaos, of course, but a warzone nonetheless.

Nani?! then dragged us straight into a 90s garage fever dream, keeping the energy beautifully thick and gritty.

Now Measurehead, they brought the house down. When they hit the stage, they delivered the final, aggressive blows to ensure nobody left with their hearing intact. ⚡️🔊

𝗠𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗱, 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴. 🤘

It was the exact reset we needed. Having a real bass drum vibrate straight through your ribs is a whole different beast, and you lot matched that energy perfectly.

To everyone who lost a shoe in the crowd or spent the next morning nursing a serious neck ache: thank you.

You proved that live, heavy music has a permanent home on Hope Street.

A rent party is a social gathering where tenants invite musicians or DJs to perform while guests contribute money to help cover the rent. Originating in 1920s Harlem, these parties emerged as a form of mutual aid within Black communities facing economic hardship and racial discrimination.
As rents continue to rise in Cape Town, more and more people are being pushed out by rising living costs, development, and gentrification. A rent party feels just as relevant now as it did then.
This time, the tenant’s house comes to 𝖊𝖛𝖔𝖑.
Come dance, support the cause, and help raise rent. If you can, throw a little extra in at the door. ❤️

We love a bit of friction inside these walls, but only the kind that is explicitly invited.

Our corner of Cape Town stays a safe space because we all follow the same golden rule: just because someone looks like they’re dressed for a dungeon doesn’t mean they’ve invited you into theirs.

The chains, the leather, and the fishnets are forms of self-expression, not an open invitation to touch, even if, like this skin, it looks soooo touchable. 🫦

Play nice, ask before you enter someone’s personal orbit, and we can all keep being as beautifully degenerate as we like.

Look, we know. We post about this constantly, but we can't exactly help it when the floor still physically shakes every time the first chord of Welcome to the Black Parade hits the room.

It is the gravity that pulls the different corners of the Cape Town alternative scene together into one sweaty, eyeliner-smeared mess.

𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝘄, 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀. 🤤😉

Whether you are a veteran who was there when the scene first broke decades ago or a newcomer who just bought their first pair of battered Vans, the energy remains completely unchanged.

We are working behind the scenes to elevate these nights into something special, though, so we guess they’ve gotten a bit more… sure?

We want to build a new tradition for the freaks of the city, creating a space where the music gets the production and the respect it deserves.

The shadows in the corner might be a little more alive than you think.

While most people know Vampire: The Masquerade as a tabletop game or a cult-classic PC title, it is actually a living, breathing subculture that breathes easiest inside our walls.🤭

In every major city, including Cape Town, there are "Kindred" who treat the nightclub floor as their Elysium. It is a neutral ground where the politics of the night play out in whispers over heavy bass.

If you’ve got an image of nerdy capes and fangs, though, this really isn’t that kind of party.

This is about a very specific, dark elegance and a code of silence.

If you’ve ever noticed a group watching the room with a bit too much ancient clarity, or owning the darkness near the speakers, you’ve likely seen the Masquerade in motion.

𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗼𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀.

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 🃏✨

Okay, either you saw the cards and had a little overdramatic panic, or you know what we’re doing, here.

If you’ve spent any time on Hope Street, though, we’re pretty sure you’re in the latter camp.

You know the only thing we’re worshipping is a good bassline, the company of the people around us, and MAYBE Gerard Way. Maybe.😉

𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱.

Whether you’re a true believer or just here for the novelty, there’s something undeniably human about sitting across from a stranger and unpacking the chaos of your life for an hour.

Spirituality aside, it’s an internal conversation facilitated through a deck of cards, and having someone else guide the process? That’s just therapy with better aesthetics.🤷‍♀️

It’s not necessarily about predicting your future, but who doesn’t need a bit of guidance to navigate the mess?
