Meet the Author: Ann Miller Shaver
Ann Miller Shaver is a debut novelist whose journey to publication is as inspiring as the
stories she tells. At nearly 80 years old, she has brought to life a collection of novels,
proving that creativity, passion, and purpose have no timeline.
Having lived in Palm Desert, Carmel, Newport Beach, and Lake Tahoe, Ann draws
deeply from the places that have shaped her life. Her writing reflects a strong sense of
setting, weaving mystery and intrigue into destinations she knows intimately, where
beauty and danger often exist side by side.
With a background in art and art history from Sierra Nevada College, Monterey
Peninsula College, and College of the Desert, Ann brings a visual richness to her
storytelling, crafting scenes that feel vivid and immersive.
She is the author of the California Coast Mystery Series, including Honolulu Mystery,
Malibu Mystery, Monterey Mystery, Newport Mystery, and Tahoe Mystery, along with
two short stories. Her work reflects a lifelong love of storytelling finally brought to the
page.
When she’s not writing, Ann enjoys quilting, watercolor painting, and spending time
with her grandchildren, often cheering them on at plays and sporting events.
Her debut as a published author at nearly 80 is a powerful reminder: it’s never too late
to begin, and some of the best stories come from a life fully lived.
