Did you know???
1. Congress is trying to pretend they are doing so much for Veterans by passing the "Take Care of America's Veterans Act." Don't be fooled. Look closely. They are giving with one hand and taking away with the other. Today, tomorrow and every day after please write you U.S. Senators and U.S. House representatives begging them to vote "no" on passing this legislation.
It is true that the bill includes many provisions the VFW has fought for and supports. BUT to pay for those benefits, Congress will reduce previously approved VA Disability rating cuts for tinnitus and sleep apnea.
Many of the benefits in this bill are priorities that the VFW has worked for years to achieve. BUT we cannot support paying for those benefits by taking compensation away from other veterans.
PLEASE, PLEASE write, call, email, message -- whatever means of communication works for you -- your Senators and House of Representatives to oppose this bill in his current form.

It was my honor to accept numerous awards at the New York VFW Auxiliary Convention for the continuous work our Auxiliary members do for our veterans and our communities.

Peru Memorial VFW Post 309 & Auxiliary members--- the time for putting American flags on the local cemeteries has been changed from meeting at St. Augustine's at 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20th.
Volunteers please meet at 12:30 p.m. at the St. Augustine's cemetery.

To the family and friends of Marion Perrotte, a forty-three-year Auxiliary member, we offer our deepest sympathies. Marion passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of ninety-one (91). She was originally a member of the Keeseville Auxiliary #1505 and transferred to our Auxiliary in 2003 when the Keeseville Auxiliary disbanded.
