Thank you to VFW and Auxiliary members who were available to setup, cook, serve and cleanup at the VFW for the "Honoring our Veterans" Dinner. Tom & Sandi Boisseau, Sabine & Jason Amoriell, Saejin Trombley, Diane Natishak, Kathy Confoy, Janet Calkins, Angela & Norm Haas, Elaine Miller, Judy and Bill Lefebvre,

We continue to be grateful to the Just Jammin' musicians who show up for us every time. They are awesome. Dave Gordon, Glenn Miller, Brenda Bouchard, Kenny Besaw, Mark Carter, Randy Duprey and Larry Reandeau.

A special thank you to Kim Miller and Thera-Pets for donated beautiful items for our raffle. Your talents are amazing.
A final thank you to the veteran supporters who attended our dinner tonight. We hope you enjoyed the meal and music.

To every veteran, thank you, for your many the sacrifices you made for us and our country. We are so blessed to live in this free country because of you.

Peru Memorial VFW is hosting a chicken barbeque dinner on July 11th to honor our veterans. The winners of these beautiful items will be drawn at 7:30 p.m. during the Just Jammin' session. Raffle tickets ($1 each 6 for $5 14 for $10) available Thursday, July 2nd, also.
The quilt donating by Thera-Pets (made by a Board member and the reverse side colored by Donkey and Friends kids). The America wreath made and donated by Kim Miller.

Peru Memorial VFW and Auxiliary have been informed that both Glenn and Elaine Miller spent several days in the hospital. After numerous tests and changes in medications, they are home. Our best wishes to both of them. Please continue to keep them and all our members in your thoughts and prayers.

Did you know???
1. Congress is trying to pretend they are doing so much for Veterans by passing the "Take Care of America's Veterans Act." Don't be fooled. Look closely. They are giving with one hand and taking away with the other. Today, tomorrow and every day after please write you U.S. Senators and U.S. House representatives begging them to vote "no" on passing this legislation.
It is true that the bill includes many provisions the VFW has fought for and supports. BUT to pay for those benefits, Congress will reduce previously approved VA Disability rating cuts for tinnitus and sleep apnea.
Many of the benefits in this bill are priorities that the VFW has worked for years to achieve. BUT we cannot support paying for those benefits by taking compensation away from other veterans.
PLEASE, PLEASE write, call, email, message -- whatever means of communication works for you -- your Senators and House of Representatives to oppose this bill in his current form.
