A Rare Whiskey with a Remarkable Lineage

On Thursday, September 10, Star Union Spirits will release a very special expression of our 75-25 Reserve Whiskey: the HCM 75-25 Reserve Whiskey, created in support of the Hegeler Carus Mansion in LaSalle.

For us, local architectural preservation matters. The Hegeler Carus Mansion is an extraordinary piece of Illinois Valley history, and we are proud to contribute to the preservation of this remarkable landmark.

This limited release begins with our signature 75-25 mash bill — 75% Illinois corn and 25% rye, and is finished in a unique Rum/Sherry cask with a remarkable lineage of its own.

Before holding this whiskey, the cask was home to two of our Reserve Rums, carrying the influence of spirits that have been aged over the past nine years. That history has given the cask layers of character that now become part of this exceptional 75-25 Reserve Whiskey.

It is a fitting partnership: locally grown grain, patiently aged spirits, craft distilling and the preservation of Illinois architectural heritage.

This is more than a bottle of whiskey. It is a whiskey with a history.
