Star Union Spirits

Tickets are still available for all three performances, but they are going fast. Reserve your tickets at [email protected].

A candlelit evening of “spirited” entertainment is heading to Star Union Spirits, Peru, on selected dates in October, featuring tales from the dark mind of Edgar Allan Poe.

Created and produced by Black Cat Entertainment, the experience takes guests on a journey with Poe as he reveals his inspiration behind some of his most well-known stories.

Bob Windy, Star Union Owner said, “This is an exciting partnership with Black Cat Entertainment. Our space really lends itself to intimate shows like this where the audience is right there with the performers. This Victorian-era style of show fits the ‘steam punk’ vibe of our space, with the equipment dimly lit through the window and a darkened atmosphere.”

Featuring Jake Jakielski as Edgar Allan Poe, the audience will get to know the legendary writer on a deeper level as he talks of his childhood, heartbreaks and losses, as well as his obsession with death. He then intertwines several of his more famous stories. Other actors drift in and out with Poe’s stories, creating an experience guests are sure to remember.

Black Cat Entertainment Producer, Don Grant Zellmer said, “Luckily, two of our creative team members are Edgar Allen Poe fans and did a lot of research in creating this show. We’re very fortunate to have performers comfortable with performing in an intimate setting like this, and I’m very much looking forward to the audience reactions.”

“Nevermore - Inside the Mind of Edgar Allan Poe with play at Star Union Thursday, October 15, Wednesday, October 21, and Thursday, October 29. Doors open at 5:30 for cocktails, guests are asked to be seated by 6:45, and the show begins at 7:00pm. Admission is $40.00 per person which includes an aperitif of absinthe, Poe’s favorite liqueur.

A big thank you from everyone at Star Union Spirits to Mike Miller of Delilah’s, Rick behind the bar, and the entire staff for the incredible hospitality at last night’s tasting event.

It was a great evening and a wonderful opportunity to share our spirits with Mike’s customers and introduce them to some of what we’re creating at Star Union. We truly appreciate the warm welcome and the chance to spend some time with Mike, Rick, and everyone who stopped by to taste and talk spirits with us.

Thanks again to the entire Delilah’s crew for making it such a memorable evening. We look forward to doing it again!
