SERVICE INDUSTRY SUNDAY, my favorite day of the week, when our bartenders get to make something for our own bitter, twisted little hearts.

Gone are the Lemon Drops and muddled herbs. Enter: double-bitter heart of darkness.

The Ferrari is an industry fave, meant to jumpstart the engine of your heart during service and clear your eyes of misanthropy.

But Penelope made something for those of us who need a little longer to sip and unwind the bristles of snapping fingers, one by one.

Campari, Angostura Amaro, lemon & simple.

It’s bitter. It’s tart. It’s got some mileage on it.

THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR BUT IN A BAR IS TONIGHT! 📚

The Bookworm is taking over Tiny House from 6–10 PM, and for the first time, and the weather is prime for grab your books and a cocktail and chillin’ in the backyard.

Carl from The Bookworm always curates an incredible selection of the best books of the year, from mystery and romance to sci-fi, cookbooks and everything in between. Plus totes, pencils and all the little Book Fair s**t your little bookish heart can handle.

We will be giving away some nostalgic gifts, and serving up punny cocktails like The Nancy Brew, our black sesame cold brew + Irish cream espresso martini.

Come to the Scholastic Book Fair. In a bar. With grown-up money.

DEAD DRINKS SOCIETY IS BACK.

At Tiny House, we’re resurrecting the Golden Cadillac, born in 1952 after a couple pulled up to Poor Red’s in a gold Cadillac and asked for a cocktail to match. THE GLAMOUR!

At Platypus, we’re revisiting the 80s/90s layering fever dream. Polos over polos. Socks over socks. Liqueurs over liqueurs.

This week’s little layer cake: crème de cacao, green mint liqueur and Five Farms Irish Cream.

One is midcentury glamour. One looks like something your aunt ordered before karaoke in 1994.

Both are back from the dead.

At Platypus, we’re revisiting the 80s/90s layering fever dream. Before there were jewelry stacks, there were polo stacks, sock stacks, liquor stacks. 😭😆

💘Goodbye, Dolly 💔 We are celebrating how Dolly would have wanted: with a bubblegum pink drink and a lineup of incredible female musicians. So you are excused if you feel like the world is a little less bright today, come let RiztheDJ curate the vibes of the women of neo soul and have a sip of the Goodbye Dolly: fresh watermelon juice, gin, lime and basil. It’s Service Industry Sunday, so we’re giving you a little peek behind the curtain at what happens when you put us in charge.

According to Malört lore, authorities let the stuff slide during Prohibition because they tasted it and determined no one would willingly drink it recreationally. 🪦

Chicago said hold my beer and have been forcing it on people ever since.

Only recently have we entered the more dangerous phase: sneaking it into cocktails.

The Malört Paloma isn’t really a question of can we? or should we? It’s more: how do you make the undrinkable drinkable?

Turns out grapefruit, lime and a little sweetness know exactly what to do with all that bitter weirdness.
