Oh yeah, I'm back to corny titles and it feels good!! This make was pretty simple and is definitely now a go to pattern. I got this super soft and light weight tie dye terry from my favorite deadstock supplier, Wasted Fabrics. I'm trying to make more clothes that I'll actually wear. I live in sweatshirts and this soft tie dye terry from made for the perfect sweatshirt. I used the wrong side for the sleeve cuffs and hem bands. I really should've used a stretch fabric for the neckline but it works.

I absolutely love this version of this wrap skirt. I've made it before in a lace as a cover-up but when I saw 's version in plaid and realized I had this orange plaid in my stash, I had to make one too.

I lengthened the skirt by 4 inches and added a second set of ties at hip level. I also used the selvedge as a design detail in the waistband and ties.

The finished, and already worn to work, Salida Skirt by . Not one modification made. The fabric is a stretch denim from a fabric shop on 38th St from YEARS ago. I did all of my topstitching in a dark blue thread. I didn't want the contrast. The pocket fabric is from remnants that I had as well.

I definitely need more wearable makes for work. That'll be my focus this summer for sure.

I'm back in season and working on more everyday wearable pieces for work etc. This simple silhouette seemed perfect for this textured cotton fabric. I just wish I'd gotten more of it! The ecru perfectly matched lace I was accenting this boxy jacket with and that created an outfit. More on alterations, modifications, and the process on the blog linked in my bio.

A simple dress with a simple story. This dress has a super simple silhouette and a great fabric will make it shine. Equally, this textured fabric doesn't need much so that it too can shine. Historically, I've been scared to sew princess seams. This dress helped with that for sure! I think the fit is SO much better than darts so I'm going to be making clothing with princess seams a lot more....

👀 It's been a while!! And this is damn near seasonally inappropriate but I'm inspired by the spirit of my cousin Alain to finish some lingering projects and to start creating again from the heart! He liked to read my blog and follow my projects so here's to him!!

Thank you to my cousin Christine for transporting 4 yards of this thick fleece from Germany to Canada! 😩 Nothing gets in the way of me getting my fabric!!
