What a night.

Our Giant Step SummerStage afterparty was everything we hoped it would be an incredible celebration of music, memories, community, and the spirit that made those original Giant Step nights so special.

Seeing members of the original Giant Step crew back together again, with DJ Nickodemus on the turntables, Nappy G on percussion, Genji on drums, Jay Rodriguez on sax, plus so many amazing special guests sitting in throughout the night, reminded us just how magical those evenings were and still are.

To everyone who packed out Nublu and embraced the heat, the sweat, and the music, thank you. You made it another unforgettable New York night. We definitely missed many friends who couldn’t be there, but your spirit was with us.

Special shout-outs to Jonathan Rudnick, Richard Worth, Jazzy Nice, DJ Smash, and the countless DJs, musicians, dancers, artists, and friends who helped make Giant Step such a unique movement back in the early ’90s. There are simply too many people to mention, but you all know who you are. This night was for all of you.

Thank you for keeping the Giant Step spirit alive. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came out to Central Park SummerStage and braved the incredible heat to share such a special night with us.

A huge thank you to Central Park SummerStage, Blue Note Jazz Festival, and of course to the artists Omar, Kokoroko, Shabaka, and DJ Lovie for delivering incredible performances.

It was another beautiful day in the Giant Step calendar, and it was so great to see old friends and new faces coming together to create those special New York moments that make this community so unique.

We’re bringing the original Giant Step crew back together for a very special night featuring DJ Nickodemus, Nappy G on percussion, Genji Siraisi on drums, Jay Rodriguez on reeds, plus some very special surprise guests.
If you were there in the early days, you know just how special these nights were. If this is your first one, you’re in for something unique.

In the early days of Giant Step, most of the nights ended with Omar’s anthem, “There’s Nothing Like This” it perfectly summed up how special the night had been. For well over 35 years of an association with this great artist, we are so proud to have him perform for us at Summerstage on Wednesday, July the 1st. Doors are at 5 p.m. Also on the bill is Shabaka, Kokoroko, and DJ Lovie. Look forward to seeing you in the park and at the after party too.
