M O N T E R E Y at night!
The tradition continues. Every spring, when the Sea Otter Classic rolls into town, Monterey shifts gears. The days belong to the dust and the grind, carbon frames slicing through Fort Ord, vendors hawking the latest in speed and style, but by night, the ritual pivots. For the past three years, riders, builders, and industry lifers have found their way, almost instinctively, to Compact Disco, trading helmets for low light and letting the rhythm take over where the race left off.
It’s become less of an afterparty and more of a pilgrimage. Out-of-towners slip into the room like they’ve been coming for years, drawn by word-of-mouth and something harder to define—a place where the energy doesn’t feel staged, where the music runs deeper than a playlist, and where the line between athlete and hedonist blurs just enough. In a town not always known for its nightlife, this is the moment where things tilt—where the weekend’s pulse beats a little faster, a little louder, and long after the bikes are parked, the night keeps moving.
