Mad City Sapphics presents... Villain Era!

A drag and burlesque show with a dance party at Crucible Madison on October 18th (6PM doors, 6:30PM show, with a dance party after the show).

$15 cover, hosted by Ike Electro

With performances by Emo Knievel, Scapegoat, Azula Luzon, Minnie Corndog, and Princess Cups, as well as halftime performance and tip kitten by Tea Thief.

The harsh glare of neon washes the streets, and glistens from a sea of brilliant chrome amid the squalor of our broken world. Let the pounding bass lure you in for a drink and a dance, as we celebrate all things cyberpunk at this month's edition of Crucible masquerade.

Crucible Masquerade is Madison's monthly costume party. Each month features a different theme: some silly, some elegant, some wicked, and a few wild and strange. Costumes always suggested, never required!

This month we encourage you to dress as denizens of the near-future shadow world. Pleasure robots, corpo fixers slumming it for the evening, shadowrunners celebrating a big score, orc chummers out for a good time -- bring out your neon and chrome... or dress as club-goers, here to enjoy the spectacle.

Elevated Art is a show celebrating the Art of Pole Dancing in all its forms. This show features a cast of local and regional pole dancers for a very special Halloween themed show! A spooktacular night of frightfully fun pole dancing acts with creepy creatures, gothic beauty, and horror characters come to life to rock the pole. This is an inclusive show open to all styles of pole dance, all bodies, and all skill levels from beginners to professionals.

Doors at 6pm, show at 7pm. $14 cover, tipping encouraged. 21+ event. Tables and seating are not reserved. All tickets sold at the door.

Crucible is thrilled to welcome back Vivian Lark, who has crafted another magnificent edition of Cabaret Noir, a 90-minute cabaret show featuring professional Madison-area performers. An elegant evening of burlesque, drag and vocals with live accompaniment. Song selections explore themes of decadence and cynicism found in film noir, and burlesque acts draw heavily on the classical golden age of burlesque.

Join us during the Wisconsin Science Festival for a special edition of Words with Nerds, an infotainment event that's like a PowerPoint party mixed with stand-up comedy. Think TED Talks, but way funnier. A great show for information sponges who love to laugh!

Prepare to be regaled by presentations on entomology, an Iranian perspective on the war in Iran, and working at a s***m bank with Anupreksha Jain, Sarah Adelman, and Dr. Sepehr Vakil PhD.

Seating is first come, first served. It is suggested that you arrive at the venue when doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime in order to get your pick of seats.

Recommended for ages 18+. Per venue rules, attendees under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. You will be asked to show a photo ID upon check-in.
