Did you miss the announcement on this month's dances? Forgot what I'm teaching for October? Well, here it is!
In Monday's beginner classes I'm covering slow waltz and cha cha, two classic favorites! If you've done these before, come on back and try them again! They are great dance staples and worth the effort.

On Thursdays, my intermediate classes are concentrating on Night Club Two Step and Viennese Waltz. Night Club is always handy for those slower songs, and Viennese Waltz is always a great challenge! I love watching people gradually get more comfortable with Viennese Waltz, and now we're trying to do some fun stuff as well!

A little update too on the parking lot situation, since I've had a few questions about it.
So far, I haven't heard anything about an end date of when it'll be finished, but I've been watching the progress and it's looking good! It looks like they're leveling off the lot and getting it ready for asphalt!
As for parking right now, there is still half of a lot open and available for parking. The temporary entrance is by Mercado Popular on Orange St, and you'll have to walk around to the front of the building to use the front entrance, but so far I've personally been able to find parking in the lot every time I come to the building.

Don't forget the door code was changed a few weeks ago and you can find out the new door code by calling me at 860-655-5731. If I don't answer, listen to the voicemail message.

October is coming and a new month's rotation of dances!
If you've never been to the studio before, welcome! Every month I start a new dance in my absolute beginner class. The dance of the previous month moves on to the next level so you can choose to follow a dance you like through the levels.

So here's October's dances:
Mondays:
7 pm Level 1- Slow Waltz. A ballroom classic that is easy to learn
8 pm Level 2- Cha Cha. A fun dance to work with, I'll be adding to the crossovers and introducing some new and easy moves!

Thursdays:
7 pm Level 3- Night Club Two Step. This has become of a staple of mine and for good reason! This month we'll be working off of open breaks and more complicated turns
8 pm Level 4- Viennese Waltz. Time to see how fast exactly we can go! Not only that, we'll be adding some extra patterns to give our V-Waltz a little more flair!

A couple things of note:
1) I'll be at Shoreline Swing and the West Hartford Swing Dance Swing Dance this month! I hope to see you at either one of these events!

2) Half of the parking lot is still under construction, but finding parking hasn't been much of an issue. The main inconvenience is the walk to the front entrance. If you haven't tried it yet, you can find the lot's temporary entrance next to the Mercado Popular store (small red brick building on Orange St).

Hey dancers, parking update!
Well, the parking lot craziness we were warned about has officially started today. The good news is this means we won't have to deal with it for much longer.
The bad news is it's a little chaotic right now. So, here's a guide to the chaos:

1) Turn on to Orange St from Park St (the street that has Parkville Market on it). Ignore the "road closed" sign.

2) Half of the lot is still closed off for construction, including the original entrance. There is a temporary entrance to the lot next to the Mercado Popular store.

I know all of this is a little annoying and I appreciate everyone's patience. In the end, we're getting a lovely new parking lot, so there's something to look forward to!
