For this week’s Whiskey Wednesday we’re pouring Gran Reserva 21 Year Rum Cask Finish, a Speyside single malt matured for 21 years in American oak and finished in hand selected Caribbean rum casks.

Bringing notes of vanilla, ripe fruit, toffee, warm spice, ginger, and oak with a long, dry finish, this one is smooth and approachable.

For this week’s Whiskey Wednesday we’re pouring a Texas Single Barrel Bourbon, a bold, full-flavored pick selected by Master Distiller Dennis Todd.

Aged 3 years in the Texas heat out in Hye, this 94 proof bourbon leans into big oak, butterscotch, and vanilla, with a pronounced nose and a rich, sweet oak profile.

We’re excited and a little heartbroken to share that executive chef Carrie Schleiffer is leaving Alley Twenty Six. Her last day will be in early June. 

Carrie is leaving to pursue an exciting opportunity but that is her news to share at a later date. 

Right now, we want to thank Carrie for helming our kitchen for the last decade. She has been here since day one. She is the reason we consistently get voted one of the best burgers, best hot dogs, best late night meals and was named the best chef in town last year. She will be sorely missed. 

We’ll let Carrie have the last word about her tenure here. “I am so grateful for everything I have learned, achieved and accomplished during my time at Alley Twenty Six. I could not have done a lot of it without the support of an amazing staff. I’m most proud that we created a place where people want to come multiple days a week — and still enjoy 10 years later.”
