This week we’re shining the spotlight on Hazel Art Bar — one of South Pearl Street’s most creative and cozy gems! 🎨🍸 Located at 1581 South Pearl Street, Hazel was opened in 2018 by neighborhood local and creative visionary Tori Schumacher, who dreamed of building a space where art, cocktails, and community could all live under one roof.

Known for its funky artistic vibe, craft cocktails, rotating local art installations, DIY art kits, adult coloring books, and welcoming neighborhood energy, Hazel is more than just a bar… it’s an experience. 💫

The name “Hazel” comes from Tori’s Great Aunt Hazel, whose message of kindness and giving back continues to inspire the spirit of the space today. Whether you’re stopping in for a creative cocktail, trivia night, a sip-and-paint session, or just some good conversation, Hazel captures everything we love about South Pearl Street — creativity, community, and a little bit of whimsy.

Somehow this tiny little bar became a living, breathing extension of my brain, and today reminded me exactly why I love what we’re building.

We may be small… but we are BIG in heart, personality, creativity, chaos, love, laughter, and soul. Every single person here brings something completely different, and somehow it all works together perfectly.

Chelsea — my ADHD artistic go-getter kid. Pure creative energy. Ideas flying at all times, making magic out of chaos and somehow pulling it all together beautifully.

Bella — the calm before every storm. Quiet confidence. The “I already handled it” girl. Steady, mellow, dependable energy that keeps us grounded when things get wild.

Andy — the human serotonin dispenser. Comedy, joy, chaos, charm. Makes everyone laugh, feel welcome, and somehow turns strangers into regulars within five minutes.

Josh — our zen soul. Artistic mixologist. The “I already know what you want before you do” guy. Calm energy, good vibes, and cocktails that feel like therapy sessions.

And me?
Just standing in the middle of it all feeling unbelievably proud and grateful that these humans chose to build this little dream with me.
