Was time to turn in the Wagoneer lease for new wheels. Staying with Jeep as I have for the better part of 30 years I went with a new Cherokee. But what’s crazy is that it’s a hybrid. Gets over 30 MPG on the road. Considering the road miles I have been doing since moving to Nashville and the price of fuel these days it’s making a difference.

Credit for the vehicle choice goes to Becca. Becca’s lease was up as well, so she traded hers in for another Cherokee. She brought it home before I got to trade my Wagoneer. I was digging it. So when I went to the dealership it’s the exact same model I chose as well. So now we have matching Jeep Cherokees!

I can’t thank enough the deal and hospitality from LHM Colorado Jeep GM Alex Young and Kristyn for helping me with the lease.

Alex has a great story you will be hearing on the podcast one of these days. From growing up in Texas rodeoing with a fella named Cody Johnson to selling Jeeps in Colorado.

And Kristyn! I’ve never met a real life roller derby girl before! Ya don’t wanna mess with her on your trade-in!

Got to have lunch with one of CSPD’s finest!

Being a third generation Marine Corps veteran has always made it easy for me to connect with the military community, active duty, retired and veterans.

But one thing I am also proud of is being son of a law-enforcement officer. I have always felt that same type of connection with law-enforcement firefighters and first responders as that’s the world that I grew up in.

That’s why at WB we always made that great connection with those communities.

After building a great relationship with local law-enforcement it gave me a piece of mind that when things got out of hand, they would have our back.

Sgt Ron Taylor was my “Bar Sergeant” at WB and now look at him working as a CSPD Public Information Officer!

So cheers 🍻 to you Sgt Taylor and all my CSPD friends! (IYKYK)

What a chill day at the America’s Mountain Festival in Woodland Park, CO.

This brand new festival is only in its second year and growing. The line up getting stronger and the operations running smoother. Great improvements to the grounds, operations, production, sponsorships really really showed through.

Starting a festival from the ground up is no easy task. It is a ton of work and you need a great team to pull it off.

So congrats to Derek, Heather and the whole AMF team!
