In partnership with Glimmers, the California Clipper welcomes LA’s Brownskinhazel during Chicago’s art fair weekend, along with Chicago favorites J. Córdova & Jenny Fox.

+Brownskinhazel is a Los Angeles based multi-disciplinary trans femme artist. They explore making art with mediums like movement, sculpture, performance, photography, creative writing and DJing. They works with and through feminist, q***r, indigenous and gender theoretical frameworks. Their art making is embedded in personal narrative, their indigenous Mexica (Aztec) ancestry, q***r club culture and the history of the brown body in relation to the U.S.-Mexico borderland.

+J. Córdova is a Chicano DJ and producer originally from Milwaukee, now based in Chicago. His sound draws from Chicago house, early hard house, techno, and bass-driven styles, shaped by Midwest club lineage and an experimental, high-impact approach. His productions fuse driving drums and syncopated rhythms informed by Latin club and dembow. He founded Agua de Rosas in 2018 and is one half of the duo Mecániko.

+Jenny Fox is a Puerto Rican deejay and curator for Chicago. Her sets combine sweaty diasporic bass, feral hard house, guaracha, trance, and left-field impolite club sounds. She is the founder of q***r event production brand Sonido Asesine, the force behind celebrated parties Eden, Globethotter, and Angel:fluid. She continues to play at some of Chicago’s most renowned club venues. 

+Glimmers: Currents of Illuminations is a circuit program of performances, panel discussions, and video screening spotlighting Latine & LatAm contemporary art practices during Chicago’s art fair week 2026. Curated by Xavier Robles Armas & organized by Chuquimarca, Glimmer showcases practices that shimmer in critical brilliance and expand the definition of visual arts The California Clipper is hosting performances by Ále ‘Celeste’ Campos (8pm) & Sebastian Hernandez (11pm), and a DJ set by Brownskinhazel.
