Brando’s now occupies the space of Hannah’s Hog Bar, which was one of Chicago first classic libation purveyors. Brando’s Speakeasy was founded in 2007 by father and son duo, Dino and Brandon Vulpitta. Dino was inspired by his son, Brandon, not only for the namesake, but to also start the restaurant and family business. The Brando’s Speakeasy theme inspiration came from one of Dino’s favorite actors, Marlon Brando. “I like to think Brando’s would be the type of bar Marlon would hang out in when he was younger,” says Dino.
