From: The Ownership of The Family Den Lounge and Restaurant
Subject: Official Statement Regarding Recent Incident and Community Accountability
We are writing to address a deeply regrettable incident that recently occurred at The Family Den Lounge and Restaurant involving one of our valued customers, Mr. House House, and a member of our security staff. What should have been a safe and welcoming evening unfortunately escalated into a serious altercation.
First and foremost, our hearts and prayers go out to Mr. House, his family, and everyone in the community who has been impacted by this distressing event. Mr. House is a beloved figure throughout the City of Chicago and its surrounding areas, and we share in the community's deep concern for his well-being.
Ownership, including Mr. Chuck Gordon and partner Mr. Devo Robinson, has been in direct communication with Mr. House House, his brother and family members. We have pledged our full, unwavering support to the family as they navigate his recovery process, and we intend to stand by them every step of the way.
To ensure the integrity of our establishment and the safety of our patrons, management has permanently relieved the security officer involved of all duties at our establishment. We are taking a hard look at our security protocols to ensure that an incident like this never happens again.
The Family Den has long been a staple of the community for 40 plus years, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. We are fully committed to repairing the harm caused to the victim, his loved ones, and the broader community at-large.
We ask that you join us in keeping Mr. House and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
The Family Den Ownership Mr. Chuck Gordon
