Where did our name come from?

O-Ku means "oak" in Japanese. A symbol of strength, resilience, and deep roots, the oak reminds us that the most meaningful things are built over time. Much like the rings of a tree tell the story of every year it's lived, every detail of O-Ku reflects the story we've been creating since opening our original location here in Charleston.

You'll find that inspiration throughout our space, from the charred wood walls and handcrafted tile to the warm glow of our pendant lights. Because great hospitality, like a great oak tree, is built slowly and meant to last.

Meet your new favorite dessert. 😉

Our Hong Kong Sando is inspired by Hong Kong-style French toast and reimagined through Chef Jeffrey's Japanese-inspired lens. Tempura-battered Japanese milk bread is paired with condensed milk anglaise, cookie butter gelato, and cookie butter crumble for the perfect mix of crispy, creamy, and sweet.

A nod to Cantonese culture with Japanese flavors, it's the dessert you'll be ordering "just to share"... until you take the first bite.
