For over 31 years, the Flamingo Cantina has been known as the people’s favorite venue in Austin, Texas to see what we call “good vibes music” – live reggae, ska, latin and worldbeat music, as well as rock, hip hop, alternative and more. As it’s owner, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with thousands of artists, including many international artists from nearly every continent. Fro

m the sounds of Afro-Cuban artist Ricardo Lemvo, to the amazing dancing and singing of the Mahotella Queens, to the Rastafarian reggae riddems performed by Burning Spear and other artists, the shows as well as the artists at Flamingo Cantina are legendary. Many artists who perform at the Flamingo Cantina enjoy the intimate nature of the room and comment on the “good vibe” the feel from the audience. The artists themselves will tell you they keep returning to get more of that “vibe” of the people and the place. The Flamingo Cantina is an oasis in the lives of people who support it – a respite from the struggles of daily life, where we can all go to dance, laugh, hear wonderful music, and eat some of Winston’s delicious jerk chicken. There will be a contest for artists to have a chance to get selected to perform on upcoming events in August with Shade45 radio & The Punchline Academy!!! Pull up & show us what you got? Who’s got. Welcome to Mad Vibez with DMadness & Rapid Ric Thursday Residency! Join us for an unforgettable event filled with incredible beats and good vibes as DMadness & Rapid Ric take over the Flam Can on Thursday nights! DMadness is an unsung gem of the cornerstone of Austin’s Vibrant music scene, has helped the city earn the title of “Live Music Capital of the World”. The multi-talented musician is a multi instrumentalist, often playing more than one instrument at a time! He performs, writes and sings funk, r’n’b, soul and hip hop infused tunes and the night includes various Austin centric singers including Azurah Vibez and Deuce Monroe with special guest artists every week.

Dreadneck Wednesdays is a weekly reggae event series starring Mau Mau Chaplains—the best regular reggae/ska show in town and the ONLY place to be on a Wednesday night.

The Mau Mau Chaplains assemble several hundred years of collective reggae experience, defining the Sixth St. music scene with Dreadneck Night at Flamingo Cantina every Wednesday for the last decade. The Mau Maus combine four-part harmonies with a driving reggae beat, complete with a full horn section courtesy of the Tijuana Train Wreck. This is, in truth, a professional reggae orchestra. Come check out this unforgettable show!

Plus, authentic Jamaican food cooked up by Winston’s Kitchen!
