APPLETON ESTATE 15 YEAR OLD

Some rums are made for mixing.
Some deserve a little more time in the glass.

Appleton Estate 15 Year Old Black River Casks is one of those bottles.

Rich, beautifully structured and seriously complex, with layers of orange peel, toasted oak, warm spice, vanilla, dried fruit and deep molasses, all carried by that unmistakable Jamaican character.

It still has the energy and personality you want from Appleton, but with the extra depth and polish that only time in cask can bring.

This is the sort of rum that reminds you just how serious great rum can be.

Best enjoyed slowly, preferably with nowhere else to be.

APPLE APPLETONS

A crisp little Jamaican Daiquiri with autumn lurking in the background.

Appleton Estate Signature, Wray & Nephew Overproof, fresh lime and our house-made spiced apple syrup.

Fresh, punchy and tart up front, then layered with baked apple, warm spice and that unmistakable Jamaican rum character.

A Daiquiri at heart - just wearing an apple jacket.

HAVEN’T THE FOGGIEST

A little tiki, a little tropical, and deliberately crystal clear.

Our take on the classic Fog Cutter gets the Kismet treatment - Appleton Estate Rum, Disaronno, lime, orange and coconut, clarified into something unexpectedly clean, bright and silky.

All the flavour of a full-blown tiki cocktail, without the tropical fruit salad sitting on top of it.

Looks innocent. Drinks dangerously well.
Haven’t the Foggiest.

Pouring now as part of our Appleton Estate Cocktail Specials.

An Old Fashioned with a little less old and a lot more Kismet.

Appleton Estate 8 Year Old Rum, stirred down with a house-made Pepsi reduction, cherry syrup and cherry liqueur with bitters.

Rich Jamaican rum, caramelised cola spice, dark cherry and that familiar little hit of nostalgia - basically what happens when a rum Old Fashioned and a cherry Pepsi stay out later than they should.

Part of our Appleton Estate Cocktail Specials, pouring now at Kismet Cocktail and Whisky Bar

CIAO, SEPTEMBER CHEESE CLUB!

After an amazing Cheese in the Kitchen evening, we’re already ready to do it all again and next month, we’re heading to ITALY.

For September, Kismet x Cook’s Corner are celebrating the glorious abundance of Italian food, where cheese is woven into the very way Italians cook and eat.

Virginia will be delving into a variety of Parmesan cheeses, alongside some of the fabulous Italian products found on the shelves at Cook’s Corner, while Kismet will be bringing the aperitivo hour to the party with a beautiful Italian aperitif to begin and a selection of Italian spritzes available throughout the evening. 🍊🍸

Expect a generous evening of tasting, sharing, discovering and eating our way around Italy - without leaving Kismet.

🇮🇹 ITALIAN CHEESE NIGHT
📅 Thursday 24th September
📍 Kismet
🎟 Tickets are ON SALE NOW via Humanitix

And a little word to the wise… our Cheese Nights have a habit of selling out, and there are only THREE left for the year.

So if Cheese Club has been sitting on your “we really must do that” list ~ this is your sign.

About last night...

What can I say apart from WOW!

Last night felt like a very natural fit for Kismet.

Kevin Hopgood and Aaron Ballantyne took over the kitchen and presented a Middle Eastern-inspired menu built around the way Kymberly and I love to eat: plates in the middle of the table, plenty to share, lots of different flavours, and absolutely no need for anyone to commit to just one dish.

It’s our favourite style of cuisine - generous and vibrant, a little messy, full of spice, herbs, smoke, sweetness, acidity. the dishes that keep you reaching back across the table for “just one more bit.”

And there was something particularly fitting about serving it here...The word Kismet comes into English through Turkish descent, with roots in Arabic qisma - referring to one’s portion, fate or destiny. Over time, it has come to mean something that was simply meant to be.

Seven years ago we chose the name Kismet because we loved that idea. Last night, seeing a table covered in flatbreads, dips, spiced lamb, fried olives, harissa, tahini, pomegranate and people reaching across one another to share it all, the name somehow felt even more appropriate.

A huge thank you to Kevin and Aaron for developing and executing the menu, and to everyone who came in, shared a table and gave it a try.

This was an experiment, but there were definitely a few dishes last night that we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to yet…

Maybe it was Kismet.
