Tis the season. Election Night ‘26 is looming. It’s time to talk electorates, overhangs, kingmakers, and scour through an endless stream of numbers to see who gets to sit where in the mighty Beehive.

This election night, join us in the hallowed halls of Whammy Bar for a special showbiz watch party hosted by our resident curmudgeonly pundits PARTY DAD & UNCLE ROHROH.

Our hosts are here to serve as your emotional support/hype men while they merrily navigate maps and juicy showdowns and bicker over political tales and reckons. Real nerd stuff.

VOTE FIRST then we’ll kick off when the polls close at 7pm. Lock in for the night or pop in and out. We’ll chuck out the good chairs and make it comfy for ya.

Auckland descends into darkness this Halloween - Friday, 30 October! 🦇 Goths, vampyres and nocturnal misfits, it’s time to hit the dance floor for a night of Goth, Post-Punk, EBM, Dark Synth Pop, Industrial and Wave.

Expect classic dark ‘80s sounds from Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy and Depeche Mode, alongside darker sounds from Boy Harsher, She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover and more.

It’s Halloween week at Whammy! From the Vampire Disko Halloween Party on Friday to the massive Sudaka Latin Halloween Bloc Fest taking over all three venues on Saturday, there’s plenty of spooky things happening. Costumes encouraged!! Plus, Louis Baker celebrates his Trouble album release, and US grunge legends Mudhoney close out the weekend on Sunday.

CELEBRATE THE LONG WEEKEND AT WHAMMY!

Three days of live music across Whammy and Double Whammy! Dougfest 4 returns for its newly expanded two-day edition, bringing punk, emo, hardcore and metal to Double Whammy (Two-day festival passes $50), while Christoph El Truento celebrates the release of his album Musical Power: Rub-A-Dub Special on Friday. Wellington’s finest punks, DARTZ, are back in town with new songs, joined by Buzz and Park Flyers at Double Whammy on Sunday, while 303’s all-Kiwi DJ lineup takes over Whammy.
