This is one of the hardest things we’ve had to write. Majuba is now closed.

Majuba was never just a bar. It was people. It was laughter across the room, dancing on a Saturday night, quiet chats at the bar, birthdays, live music and that feeling that summer never really left.

We gave it everything we had. Every detail mattered. Every night mattered. But most of all, every single one of you mattered.

Thank you for walking through the doors, for supporting us, for believing in the vision and for making it what it was.

Right, Majuba team is here. Boss is not watching. Probably.

Tonight we’re doing two things at once.

First, live music. Local Duo “Face Value” are back from 8PM. Last time they took over your hearts, the dancefloor and any dignity left by 10pm. You danced, you sang, you stayed longer than planned. So yes, they’re doing it again.

Second, we’re taking over the bar.

It’s the Boss Lady’s birthday celebration tonight. She asked for low key. Quiet. Nothing made of it.

Absolutely not.

So here’s what’s happening whether she likes it or not.

• Birthday celebration for all
• All cocktails 2 for £12 all night
• Extra deals waiting at the bar
• Music, dancing and team-approved chaos

While we’re shut this weekend, we realised something we haven’t shouted about enough.

All this time, we’ve had a really great pool table tucked away in our back room. Those who’ve played on it already know how good it is. The only thing it’s missing… is The Team.

So we’re changing that.

We’re opening the door to anyone who’d like to be part of the Majuba Pool Team. We’ll offer dedicated training nights, credit towards those sessions and our aim is to get into a pool league so we can play, improve and enjoy it together.

Team members will receive a unique membership card giving 25% off at Majuba at all times while they’re part of the team. For league nights and major games, there will also be pint and food deals.

With the jukebox for your own music and the pool table ready to go, it’s all about good games, good company and no distractions from the main bar.

We are "shut", "closed", "locked up" for this weekend.

We are taking a little time to REVAMP our cosy place and make it even cosier. A few behind-the-scenes touches, a bit of a refresh and some Majuba love going into the space.

We will be back open from 16th January, so do not forget to come and check what is new at Majuba.

Anyone whose birthday we will miss this January up to the 16th, pop in. Birthday shots will be waiting for you. January birthdays deserve better.

Lots of new entertainment, game and some of the best hangouts are coming this year. Majuba is here to be your go-to place to unwind, catch up and stay longer than planned.

As the new year begins, before we dive in properly, we want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who was, is and will be part of Majuba.

This year gave us so much. We shared incredible nights, big singalongs, cosy conversations, laughs, meet-ups and moments that reminded us why we do this. We grew together, learned together and created memories we will always carry with us.

Whatever the new year brings, we wish all of us bigger, better and taller cocktail glasses, more music to sing along to, more time to slow down, and more reasons to come together under one roof.

Here’s to us, to Majuba, and to raising a glass to the year ahead.

The festive weekend is just getting started, so buckle up.

Tonight marks Majuba’s last live music act of the year, and we’re finishing strong with one of our favourites, James Taylor. He’ll be singing the best songs from 9PM.

Let’s keep this weekend about great friendships, the best gatherings and warming drinks to see us through the night.

Sai Kong is back with us from 8pm, and honestly, nights like this are why we love having him. Big voice, great tunes, and before you know it everyone’s singing along without even realising. He always brings such a good feel to the room.
