Hi everyone,
We’ve got a big update to share.
As many of you know, over the past few years Jordanne and I have grown our bottled cocktail business alongside running The Lockdown. Last year it became clear that we couldn’t sustainably do both.
Our plan for 2026 was to step back and train Ted to take over as licensee so The Lockdown could continue. Unfortunately, we were informed this weekend that this won’t be possible. The landlord intends to take the building back for his own use, which means The Lockdown will be closing.
This Friday and Saturday will be our final weekend open.
The last five years have been incredible. From quiz nights to tastings, from lockdown restrictions to packed Saturdays, you’ve supported us every step of the way.
The Lockdown helped us grow our sister company into a brand now stocked in department stores, ordered by high-street retailers for corporate gifting, and even purchased by a few VIPs (we wish we could name them!) That only happened because of you.
We can’t thank you enough.
We’re not disappearing. You’ll still see us around Marske, at markets in the square and across the area and if you spot us, we’ll always have a cocktail sample ready.
But for now, this is the end of The Lockdown.
