When it’s this warm and humid, an Old Fashioned probably isn’t the first cocktail that comes to mind.

But maybe it should be.

Our Rum Old Fashioned swaps bourbon for Bacardi 8 Años, bringing notes of caramel, vanilla and toasted oak that work beautifully with muscovado sugar and aromatic bitters. Rich enough to savour, yet smooth enough to enjoy even on a sticky summer evening.

Sometimes the best drinks are the ones you weren’t expecting to order.

🎲🍸 Introducing Games Night at The Nuthatch!

We're trying something a little different...

On Thursday 6th August, Tom will be hosting our very first Games Night. Nothing formal, no competitions, just a relaxed evening of board games, cocktails and good company.

🕡 Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start.

Tom will be bringing along favourites including Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride and Exploding Kittens, but if you've got a game you love, bring it along!

Even better, £8 cocktails will be available all evening, so whether you're negotiating sheep for wood or plotting world domination, there's a drink with your name on it.

🎄 Our busiest Christmas in July yet.

We always wonder whether Christmas in July will catch on a little more each year. Safe to say… it has.

Yesterday was our biggest one yet, with a bar full of festive cocktails, Christmas music, cheese boards and far too many terrible Christmas jokes.

The surprise favourites? 🍦 The Raspberry, Pistachio & Mr Whippy cocktail was comfortably the most ordered of the day, with the Black Cherry Rum, Cherry Brandy & Vanilla not far behind. Mind you, every drink on the menu seemed to find plenty of fans.

These photos weren’t taken by us either. We pinched them from guests who tagged us throughout the day, and we thought they were too good not to share. ❤️

It does make you realise one thing though… Christmas isn’t actually that far away now. We’ll be decorating the bar before we know it.

Some cocktails quietly find their audience. Others suddenly take off.

Over the last couple of weeks, that’s exactly what’s happened with the Loxigilla, a summer resurgence!

Inspired by the flavours of a Piña Colada, but completely reimagined. Instead of the usual creamy, cloudy look, this one pours crystal clear thanks to a milk washing process that removes the colour while leaving behind a silky texture and incredibly smooth finish.

Sweet coconut, fresh pineapple, a touch of lime and just enough coffee liqueur to add depth. Familiar flavours presented in a way most people haven’t experienced before.

Introducing this year’s Bottomless Rum Month menu!

Every year we pick a spirit and ask ourselves one question…

“How many different ways can we make people fall in love with it?”

This August, the answer is eleven.

Tom & Eve have created a menu that starts with familiar favourites before taking you somewhere completely unexpected.

The Pintail has become an instant favourite behind the bar, blending banana rum, maple and fresh lemon into something unbelievably smooth and moreish. The Hawfinch brings together toasted hazelnut and cherry with bright citrus, while the Firecrest is fresh, peachy and finished with a gentle ginger kick.

If tropical holidays are more your thing, the Frozen Piña Colada is everything you’d hope for, while our trio of Mojitos, including the Blueberry and Chilli Mango versions, are made for long summer afternoons.

That’s exactly what Bottomless Rum Month is about. Discovering new favourites, revisiting old classics, sharing one of our British Charcuterie & Cheese Boards, and spending ninety minutes working your way through a menu that you won’t find anywhere else.
