*ZACATECAS - smoky, spicy, earthy. 🌵🔥*

Our new menu is officially out, and we’re kicking things off with a little taste of Mexico.

Meet Zacatecas, a cocktail inspired by the deep, smoky, savoury flavours of Mexican adobo. BBQ-infused Elijah Craig straight rye wh***ey meets Montelobos Espadín mezcal, Ancho Verde poblano chilli liqueur, fresh lime, Mexican oregano honey and epazote. A little smoke, a little heat, plenty of herbs, and a whole lot of character.

Finished with pickled cucumber sorbet, bringing a refreshing, tangy contrast to all that depth.

Inspired by the landscapes, ingredients and traditions of Mexico, this one is made for anyone who likes their cocktails with a bit of fire.

All month we’re serving up some Latin flavours courtesy of - special drinks alongside great food and great music.

The month will culminate on Halloween with on Saturday 31st October. Bring your stomach, lungs and dancing feet.

Next Tuesday we kick off Global Tuesdays, bringing top class musicians of World music to the stage on the first Tuesday of the month. Featuring Asere Trio presenting the authentic sounds of Cuba, both traditional and modern from Cuban Jazz to Buena Vista style Son/bolero/cha cha cha to modern Cuban timba and beyond.

This conjunto are well recognised on the Latin scene - they can be seen in the various top Cuban bands here in the UK, and have performed around the
world to much critical acclaim. All three are members of The Sambroso All Stars and also performed
with a multitude of Internationally recognised artists across the genres – from Hugh Masekela to Tony Allen to Giles Peterson’s Havana Cultura to Johnny Clarke to Orchestra Imperial to name a very few.

Fronted by percussionist and vocalist Javier Camilo from Havana, with fellow Cuban Frank Portuondo on Bass and led by pianist Kishon Khan, this trio is much in demand.

We’re kicking off our inaugural Global Tuesdays on 6th October with Asere Trio, representing the authentic sounds of Cuba, both traditional and modern. Comprising three musicians from The Sambroso All Stars, expect Cuban Jazz to Buena Vista style Son/bolero/cha cha cha to modern Cuban timba and beyond.

Tuesday night. One small room. Cuban strings meet West African rhythm. 🎻🥁

This Tuesday, 22 September, Oriole welcomes back world-renowned violinist Omar Puente and his trio for one intimate night in Covent Garden.

Havana-trained and a longtime collaborator of Courtney Pine and Nigel Kennedy, Omar plays an explosive fusion of Cuban roots, jazz and classical virtuosity. One minute it’s a son montuno, the next a jazz standard turned inside out.

Joining him is a very special guest: Senegalese percussion master Mamadou Sarr. He’s the featured percussionist for Baaba Maal and Sona Jobarteh, and he has played stages around the world, including a private performance for the Obamas.
