LIVE DUB act Lecoughski and SiMo
This saturday from 5pm at MERMAIDS!
LECOUGHSKI started his musical journey in the early dubstep sound and he soon delved into experimenting with various tempos and sounds. One of his first ventures was into halftime drum and bass, which he released on Samurai Breaks' pioneering label, "tsunami bass weight." As his talent grew, he showcased his remixing skills by reimagining tracks from artists like Rico Tubbs and Clyde Avery, incorporating elements from Footwork, Jungle and Halftime genres.
Continuing to evolve, Lecoughski ventured into the realm of Jamaican dub music, drawing inspiration from its distinctive soundscapes and hardware equipment. This culminated in the release of a mesmerizing dubbed-out halftime drum and bass EP on the Canadian label "Deviant audio," which is under the guidance of Stranjah.
Since then, Lecoughski has been hard at work, taking part in numerous projects. Notably, he worked on a dynamic 160 BPM garage EP for Samurai Breaks and D'tch's label "super sonic b***y bangers." He has also been contributing his talent to the folkstone band "Jimmy and the Riddles," where he plays keys and expertly crafts dub sound effects.

SiMo started playing the piano when he was seven and has been immersed in music ever since, both as a musician and events promoter, having spent much of the 90s running a sound system and nightclub (The Sub Club which is now the Chambers in Folkestone.)
He has been promiscuous with genres: as a promoter he put on dance, indie, folk and reggae nights. As a musician he has formed and played in many different bands over the past 30 years including Jazz, Punk and Alt-Country, and more recently he has written and produced his own electronic music.
But when it comes to playing live his one true love is reggae roots and dub, a love affair that started as a kid listening to John Peel’s late night radio one show in the 80s. Simon is the keyboard player in The Liberators, an authentic roots reggae band that plays a mix of beautifully crafted originals and lesser known covers.dub
