Award-winning KIBOU started as a small basement restaurant, built by people who couldn't stop discovering Japan and wanted to share what they'd found. That's still the idea behind every KIBOU today, across six sites and counting. Step into any KIBOU and you'll find something new to notice: hand-painted murals by artist Martyna Sabadasz, unique to that site and telling its own local story; Japanese-inspired greenery and tree installations, an open sushi kitchen, and a bar built around sake, whisky and cocktails worth talking about. Each restaurant has its own character, its own finds, its own reasons to come back. Can't believe it's been a week since our KIBOU Birmingham opening party... we're still buzzing from it.
Sake barrel smashed, music kicking, plates of sushi and karaage going out all night, and a room full of people who made our first night one to remember.
Thanks to everyone who came and to our team who pulled the whole night off.
Excited for what's next.

📢 NEW OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT 📢
And we're off...
KIBOU Birmingham officially opens today: Monday 12th October.
Find us on Temple Row, facing Cathedral Square (or Pigeon Park if you're in the know!)
Inside, there are digital animations by the very talented Martyna Sabadasz , a large open sushi bar you can sit up to, stunning restaurant, and a really boujee basement you'll want to see for yourself.
Expect all your KIBOU favourites: chicken karaage, takoyaki, ramen, katsu curry, A5 wagyu and of course our iconic Volcano Roll. Two kitchens, seven days a week, plus late night until 2am on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Come and say hello to the new restaurant and our new team.

Four weeks of sampling around Birmingham, and we've loved every minute.
We've been out meeting our new neighbours, making friends and handing over plates of sushi so you can get a taste of what's coming to Temple Row.
Plenty of you know us from Solihull. Plenty of you were trying KIBOU for the first time. We couldn't have been more chuffed with the welcome.
Thank you to Cubo Work, HSBC and Arca Temple Row for helping us bring these sessions together. And to our team, who were up at the crack of dawn to make every one of those platters fresh.

Birmingham, this is starting to feel real!
Next week the team joins us on site... and the builders are off!
Grills fired up, sushi rolled, tables laid and relaid until they're just right. It's the moment the whole KIBOU family comes together in one place for the first time.
These are the pictures from when we were first pulling the vision together, back before a single tile had been lifted. Looking at them now, knowing what's coming, everything we pictured starts to become something you can actually walk into.
We can't wait to open our doors.
Bookings are already coming in faster than we expected, so it looks like a lot of you are pretty excited too 🧡.

All KIBOU restaurants are closed today (21.9) because the whole KIBOU family is getting together. It's our team party and awards, and a chance to say thank you to the people who make every site feel like KIBOU, and make it such a fun place to work.
We'll see you back in the restaurants tomorrow (Tuesday). Today is for the team 💗
