Re.mix.er is back on Thursday 3rd September, with 'a rhythm to clap to' by father and son, Ray Gillespie & Neil Gillespie.
Both artists draw inspiration from the natural world and their surroundings, translating what they see through an instinctive approach to paint. Their work sits between the figurative and abstract, with recognisable forms emerging through layers, texture and arrangement.
A Rhythm to Clap to celebrates what can be passed between generations — a desire to create, an attentiveness to the landscape, and the freedom to make without taking things too seriously. It is a celebration of similarity and difference, influence and independence, but above all, the shared joy of painting.
