CABARET VOLTA SUVEPÄEV 🏖️ CABARET VOLTA SUMMER GATHERING

On 2nd of August experimental sound artists and fellow enjoyers from Estonia and abroad gather at Cabaret Volta for a collective summer jam session. 🍓

The program includes different kinds of noise music and sound experiments or whoever/whatever the cat might drag in. 🦨

❕Alongside the already confirmed artists YOU are also welcome to take over Cabaret Volta. Let the organisers know by either sending Cabaret Volta a message right now or just showing up and notifying at the bar.
The day will end with a collective improvisation jam.

Erik Alalooga "The Kinetic Hitchhiker"

Erik Alalooga's machine music concert "The Kinetic Hithhiker" in Cabaret Volta is one episode of the machine music road-movie filming.

The filming takes place in Cabaret Volta, Viljandi in an abandoned theatre, Maajaam, Nils Hint's forge, an abandoned gas station, an electrical substation, a bus stop, under a bridge and other places along the way.

Filming is done with a 16 mm analog camera.
In the shot, the author does gymnastics with his homemade machines, the operator is Elina Matvejeva (LV) and the assistant Artūrs Lūriņš (LV)

The project is supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, Baltic Analog Lab, OÜ Teatridoktor, Maajaam, Cabaret Volta, Koidu Seltsimaja and Nils Hint.

The event can be supported by donations on site.

Let’s open the anniversary season of Üle Heli!

Kabareeõhtu öiste lisanditega (Cabaret Evening With Nighttime Additions) brings electroacoustic and sound art experiments as well as thumping art ((?) danceable music). The calmer mood of the evening smoothly transitions to more energetic rhythmic music as the night approaches with Aivar Tõnso bringing the Ebakõlarid (not-speakers), Junga presenting his latest jungle album “River Valley” and much more as seen on the poster.

Buzhold and Borm Bubu will be doing a Baltic tour with the first location being Cabaret Volta!

Since both bands are busy recording new material, this will probably be their only concert this year in Estonia.
There will be lots of fresh material for listening as well as some stuff from the freezer.

Warm up by the brand new pop-indie-progressive collective Sleeping Youth.

Ticket is 10€ cash for the first hour / 15€ after that

Cabaret Volta is delighted to host the final show of Olev Muska’s tour “Sõit Põhja”!

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS: Olev Muska (AU) / Sõit Põhja FINALE / ALSO ENCOUNTERING: A.M.Poogen

Olev Muska is an Australian-born composer and multimedia artist of Estonian-Russian heritage. His single from 1980 “Tuljak” and album from 1985 “Old Estonian Waltzes” have made him the first electronic folk music artist in Estonian music history.
This summer Olev Muska performed at over 18 festivals and solo shows to celebrate the release of “New Estonian Waltzes”, a playful tribute to his 1985 debute album with the label Glitch Please.

Accompanying Olev Muska will be Aldo Mett. With his experimental-instrumental project A.M.Poogen, Aldo Mett explores new paths influenced by folktronica, ambient, trip hop etc by reinventing folk instruments and learning different playing techniques.
