How long a culture can stand the test of time depends, perhaps, on how those of us living today choose to carry them forward — in the language we keep alive, the way we greet one another, the way a dish is prepared, and how we honour the values passed down through generations.

At TRE, we all come from different corners of Vietnam, each carrying our own stories, having our own regional accents. Yet here, we are ONE — united by the same sense of pride and the same desire to carry forward the most beautiful legacies of where we come from.

So, to everyone who makes TRE, TRE — thank you. ❤️

Một nền văn hóa có thể đi được bao xa với thời gian, có lẽ nằm trong cách những con người hôm nay lựa chọn gìn giữ nó - cách ta giữ một tiếng nói, một câu chào, cách một món ăn được nấu, hay những giá trị ngàn đời được những con người đương thời nâng niu, gìn giữ.

Ở TRE, mỗi chúng tôi đều đến từ những vùng miền khác nhau của Việt Nam, mang theo mình những câu chuyện riêng, những giọng nói riêng. Nhưng cũng ở đây, chúng tôi là một, mang chung một niềm tự hào, và mong muốn tiếp nối những di sản đẹp đẽ nhất của quê hương mình.

We want to share the story of a very special guest — the very first person to ever sit down and dine at TRE, before we had even officially opened our doors. That day, our bowls and chopsticks were still packed away, and almost nothing else was ready. Yet somehow, in the middle of all the chaos, we managed to set our very first table for our very first guest. It is a memory we will never forget.

What began with a stranger who happened to walk through our doors somehow turned into a beautiful friendship. That special guest is Đăng Trường — Super Model, Fashion Art Toronto Organisation — Winner Miss Canada Perfect 2024. Today, after returning from the TIFF red carpet in Toronto, Trường visited TRE again wearing a beautiful Vietnamese áo dài designed by Designer Trần Thiện Khánh. Thank you, Trường, for all the love you’ve shown TRE.

A traditional áo dài, a young Vietnamese talent, and a little corner filled with the spirit of Vietnam — this is our way of holding close and celebrating the traditions of home.

Chúng tôi muốn kể về một vị khách rất đặc biệt - vị khách đầu tiên ngồi xuống dùng bữa tại TRE, khi mà TRE còn chưa chính thức mở cửa. Ngày hôm ấy, bát đũa còn chưa kịp lấy ra, ly tách cũng chưa sẵn sàng. Vậy mà giữa tất cả những bộn bề ấy, chúng tôi vẫn gắng sửa soạn một chiếc bàn đầu tiên, để đón một vị khách đầu tiên. Đó là kỷ niệm chúng tôi sẽ không thể nào quên.

Từ một vị khách xa lạ tình cờ ghé thăm, bỗng tự khi nào trở thành một người bạn thân thiết nhất. Vị khách đặc biệt ấy là Siêu mẫu Đăng Trường - Fashion Art Toronto Organisation - Winner Miss Canada Perfect 2024. Hôm nay, sau khi trở về từ thảm đỏ TIFF Toronto, Trường đã ghé thăm TRE trong một tà áo dài đậm sắc Việt Nam do NTK Trần Thiện Khánh thiết kế. Cảm ơn Trường thật nhiều vì những tình cảm của em dành cho TRE.

Một người Việt trẻ tài năng, một tà áo dài đỏ thắm, một góc nhỏ đậm hồn Việt - đó là cách mà chúng tôi ôm ấp và vinh danh những giá trị truyền thống của đất nước mình.

There’s a lot of thought behind the way TRE looks and feels.

We wanted the space to feel warm and inviting, yet quietly refined. From the lighting and materials to the bamboo and subtle Vietnamese details, every element was thoughtfully designed and chosen with intention.

Rather than recreating a traditional Vietnamese setting, we took familiar elements of our heritage and reimagined them in a contemporary way — creating a space that feels modern and sophisticated, while remaining unmistakably Vietnamese.

So this is a little bit of Vietnam before the first dish even arrives.

Một không gian đẹp không chỉ để ngắm nhìn, mà còn để cảm nhận.

Tại TRE, chúng tôi dành trọn tâm huyết cho từng chi tiết trong thiết kế không gian. Từ ánh sáng, chất liệu, bàn ghế đến những yếu tố mang đậm dấu ấn Việt Nam, tất cả đều được lựa chọn và sắp đặt có chủ đích. Ánh sáng vừa đủ để những thân tre hiện lên rõ nét, để những chất liệu quen thuộc được nhìn thấy trong một diện mạo mới, hiện đại và tinh tế, nhưng vẫn rất Việt Nam.

Bởi chúng tôi tin rằng trước khi thưởng thức các món ăn, việc ngắm nhìn một không gian cũng có thể là cách để chúng ta bắt đầu cảm nhận về một nền văn hoá.

Chào mừng bạn tới với TRE – nơi Việt Nam không chỉ được nhìn thấy, mà còn được cảm nhận qua những chất liệu, ký ức và câu chuyện đã trở thành một phần trong đời sống của người Việt.

Hàng nghìn thân tre hiện diện trong không gian như một hình ảnh quen thuộc của làng quê Việt Nam. Cùng với những chi tiết được chọn lọc từ văn hoá và đời sống, tất cả được đặt trong một không gian đương đại, để những điều xưa cũ không chỉ được lưu giữ, mà tiếp tục được kể theo một cách mới.

The finest evenings are often the ones that ask for nothing more — a few glasses raised, good food, warm laughter, and conversations that seem to make time move a little slower.

There is a quiet elegance in losing track of time, when the whole space softens around you, and the evening becomes less about where you are, but more about who you are sharing it with.
