Yesterday, the unimaginable happened.
The distillery we have worked so hard to build over the last 9 years was devastated by a fire. While the most important thing is that everyone made it out safely and there were no injuries, we are absolutely heartbroken.
Our fire suppression system worked exactly as it was designed to and helped save the building itself, but there was still extensive damage to our production area. As a result, the distillery will be closed for the foreseeable future as we begin the long road to rebuilding.
For our owner, Mark this is more than just a building. This distillery was his life’s work, and seeing it burn was devastating. A massive gut punch after so many years of blood, sweat and tears.
We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Calgary Fire Department. Their quick response, professionalism, and determination helped save what they could, and we are incredibly thankful for everything they did.
Mark would like everyone to know that right now, he’s taking some time to process everything that has happened, be with his families, and figure out the next steps. The support, messages, and kindness he’s received over the last 24 hours have meant more than he can put into words. And he’s very Sorry he hasn’t replied to anyone yet but thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered help, or simply kept us in your thoughts.
This isn’t the ending of our story. It will take time, but we’ll rebuild.
Thank you for standing with us.
